Job Title: Network Security Analyst 1 – Cloud Vulnerability Remediation Engineer
Location: Austin, TX 78744 (Hybrid) 
Duration: 07/15/2026 – 07/14/2027

Job Summary:

Seeking a Network Security Analyst I / Cloud Vulnerability Remediation Engineer to support cloud security, vulnerability management, and compliance initiatives. The role is responsible for identifying, assessing, patching, and remediating security vulnerabilities across cloud environments while ensuring compliance with security standards, remediation SLAs, and change management processes. The candidate will work closely with Security, Cloud Operations, Risk, and Application teams to maintain a secure and compliant cloud infrastructure.

Key Responsibilities

  • Review and analyze vulnerability findings from approved security scanning tools.
  • Assess risk and impact of vulnerabilities affecting cloud infrastructure and services.
  • Perform vulnerability remediation through patching, security hardening, and configuration updates.
  • Validate remediation activities and confirm successful closure of vulnerabilities.
  • Execute cloud patching and update activities following approved procedures.
  • Implement compensating controls when patches are unavailable.
  • Maintain remediation records, change requests, and audit documentation.
  • Ensure remediation activities comply with change management processes.
  • Provide remediation status updates for audits, compliance reviews, and leadership reporting.
  • Collaborate with Security, Cloud Architecture, and Application teams on complex vulnerabilities.
  • Identify recurring security issues and recommend process improvements.
  • Support initiatives to improve cloud security posture and reduce technical debt.

Required Skills

  • 3+ years of IT experience with cloud infrastructure, system administration, or vulnerability remediation.
  • 3+ years supporting cloud-hosted environments.
  • Experience with vulnerability remediation, patch management, and security hardening.
  • Understanding of compensating controls and risk mitigation strategies.
  • Familiarity with IT Service Management (ITSM) and change management processes.
  • Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and documentation skills.
  • Ability to follow established security and remediation procedures.
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills.

Preferred Skills

  • Experience with enterprise vulnerability management programs and remediation SLAs.
  • Knowledge of Cloud Security Posture Management (CSPM) tools.
  • Experience with security baselines, compliance, and risk reporting.
  • Cloud or cybersecurity certifications (AWS, Azure, Security+, CISSP, etc.).
  • Experience working in regulated or compliance-driven environments.
  • Knowledge of cloud security best practices and governance frameworks.
