  • Translate insights, technical constraints, and business goals into clear, actionable UX direction
  • Define system-level interaction models, information architecture, and design frameworks
  • Establish reusable UX patterns and standards that scale across tools and product categories
  • Plan, conduct, and synthesize usability testing; drive implementation of improvements
  • Evaluate and refine designs to balance usability, performance, manufacturability, and cost considerations
  • Present and defend design decisions with strong rationale to project teams and leadership
  • Drive alignment among stakeholders with competing priorities or constraints
  • Identify opportunities to improve usability, efficiency, and consistency across the Milwaukee Tool ecosystem
  • Ensure UX solutions perform effectively in real-world jobsite conditions (e.g., visibility, durability, ease of use with gloves, environmental factors)
  • Stay current on emerging UX methodologies, tools, and industry best practices

Education & Experience Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in UX Design, Interaction Design, Industrial Design, or related discipline
  • 6-10+ years of UX/UI design experience, preferably spanning physical and digital product experiences
  • Portfolio demonstrating advanced expertise in systems thinking, interaction design, and user-centered problem solving
  • Proven ability to lead UX efforts across multiple concurrent projects or product lines
  • Demonstrated success influencing product direction and cross-functional decision-making
  • Strong experience working within complex product development environments (hardware + software)
  • Proficiency with Figma, ProtoPie, Adobe Creative Suite, and related tools
  • Deep understanding of embedded systems and hardware/software integration constraints
  • Strong communication, facilitation, and stakeholder alignment skills
  • Expertise in usability, accessibility, and human factors design
  • Experience designing for real-world use conditions, including physically demanding and dynamic environments
  • Occasional travel may be required
