Your Opportunity
This position will be part of CTS (Client Technology Services) and Sales, Services and Marketing Technology (SSMT) team, building and managing software delivery pipelines for Schwab Representative facing technologies. The DevOps Engineer is an individual contributor role, with oversight of the CI/CD pipeline for the SSMT organization, collaborating with all members of the Salesforce platform and DevOps teams, leaders, Product Owners, and other technology groups to plan and execute software releases. The ideal technical candidate will be organized, forward looking, a critical thinker, and have 5+ years in an enterprise software delivery environment, with expertise in Salesforce platforms.
What you are good at
Managing application release schedules, ad-hoc projects and/or key infrastructure initiatives across multiple environments and scrum teams.
Solid record in an operational support and direct development role with emphasis on protecting the sandbox and production environments while applying appropriate controls to maintain high availability and adherence to security standards.
Skilled in automating Salesforce project releases and managing deployment processes to improve efficiency and delivery speed.
Understanding a complex system of applications and coordinating dependencies between development teams and systems.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills required for composing and communicating deployment status to all the partners involved, including providing clear, concise, and timely status to all parties throughout the development lifecycle.
What you have
5+ years working in an enterprise software delivery organization.
5+ years managing release pipelines for complex and critical applications.
Expert knowledge of CI/CD tools in a cloud environment (GitHub, Git Hub Actions, and Copado is a plus).
Skilled with branching strategies and code review processes.
Experience documenting and improving processes around CI/CD best practices.
Experience with data masking techniques to protect sensitive information in Salesforce environments.
Knowledge of advanced release strategy concepts (deployments, tagging, versioning, automations).
Experience with Python, Bash, PowerShell scripting supporting custom automation solutions.
Proficiency in using the Salesforce CLI for managing scratch orgs and metadata.
Knowledge of Remedy, Jira, Confluence.
Ability to work a flexible schedule, including the potential for some evenings as required, to support release triage.
Strong ownership mentality with a focus on stakeholder satisfaction. Ability to partner with Developers / Release Management / Production owners and Leadership, throughout the agile software delivery deliverables.
Expert Knowledge of Agile methodologies and DevOps best practices required.
Salesforce Certified Administrator and/or Platform Developer, a plus.
