Apply to this posting for Future Opportunities with KLA.We are seeking a Staff Research Scientist with a strong background in image quality optimization, new technology introduction, and reliability engineering for the development of next-generation inspection tools. The candidate will lead research initiatives, collaborating with mechanical, optical, electrical, software, and other systems engineers to advance core technologies.
Key Responsibilities:- Drive image quality improvements through data acquisition optimization, hardware refinement, and advanced calibration strategies.
- Investigate and propose innovative concepts for next-generation imaging and inspection capabilities
- Lead system-level qualification and integration for advanced SEM platforms.
- Conduct root cause analysis and guide corrective actions for imaging performance issues.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams in optics, electronics, and software to achieve tool performance goals.
Required Qualifications:- Strong understanding of image processing, signal analysis, and system optimization.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a track record of innovation.
- Effective communicator able to share technical information with functional groups and provide executive-level reports to management and customers.
- Experience with control systems, hardware/software integration, and algorithm development.
- Experience defining work plans, DOEs, and test strategies.
Preferred Qualifications:- Proficient in MATLAB or Python for data analysis and experimentation
- Familiarity with SEM calibration techniques and image quality metrics.
- Industry experience in one or more of the following:
- Research and development of complex imaging systems.
- Optical or electro-optical inspection tools.
- System engineering or integration.
- Semiconductor industry.
Minimum QualificationsDoctorate (Academic) Degree and related work experience of 3 years; Master's Level Degree and related work experience of 6 years; Bachelor's Level Degree and related work experience of 8 years
Base Pay Range: $159,500.00 - $271,200.00
