In line with our growth and the expansion of our services, we are seeking an experienced and strategic Procurement Manager to strengthen our Finance team.
Position Summary: Reporting into the Finance organization, the Procurement Manager plays a critical role in sourcing, negotiating, and managing the supply of hardware, software, and services that power our high-performance computing environments. This role encompasses strategic sourcing, vendor relationship management, contract negotiation, and end-to-end purchase order lifecycle ownership, with a strong emphasis on financial discipline, spend visibility, and capital efficiency. The successful applicant will partner closely with Finance leadership on budgeting, forecasting, and capex planning while working cross-functionally with Infrastructure Operations, Deployment, and Legal to ensure cost-effective and timely procurement that supports the reliability and scalability of our infrastructure. Travel to data centers, vendor sites, and industry events within the US may occasionally be required to support supplier audits, hardware acceptance, or strategic vendor engagements.
Key Responsibilities:
Financial Stewardship and Spend Management:
Partner with FP&A and Accounting to align procurement activity with budgets, forecasts, and capex plans
Own spend analytics and reporting, providing Finance leadership with visibility into commitments, accruals, and savings realization
Build and maintain total-cost-of-ownership models to inform make-vs-buy and lease-vs-buy decisions
Track and report on cost-savings, cost-avoidance, and working capital impact against annual targets
Support month-end and quarter-end close activities related to POs, accruals, and vendor commitments
Sourcing and Vendor Management:
Identify, evaluate, and onboard suppliers of server hardware, GPUs, networking equipment, storage, and data center consumables
Build and maintain strong relationships with OEMs, distributors, and value-added resellers
Conduct regular supplier performance reviews against quality, delivery, and cost benchmarks
Manage RFx processes (RFI, RFP, RFQ) and lead competitive bidding to secure optimal terms
Develop and execute multi-sourcing strategies to mitigate supply chain risk
Contract Negotiation and Administration:
Negotiate pricing, payment terms, SLAs, warranties, and master purchase agreements with vendors
Partner with Legal to review and finalize contracts, NDAs, and statements of work
Maintain a contract repository and track renewal, expiration, and key obligation dates
Drive cost-savings initiatives through volume commitments, rebates, and favorable payment structures
Purchase Order and Supply Chain Operations:
Oversee the full purchase order lifecycle from requisition through receipt and invoice reconciliation, in partnership with Accounts Payable
Coordinate with Infrastructure Operations and Deployment teams to align procurement timelines with build schedules
Monitor lead times, allocations, and market conditions for critical components such as GPUs and high-capacity storage
Manage RMA workflows and warranty claims in partnership with the operations team
Track inventory levels and work with stakeholders to forecast demand accurately
Collaboration and Communication:
Serve as the procurement point of contact for Infrastructure Operations, Network Engineering, and Deployment teams, translating technical requirements into sourcing strategies
Provide Finance and executive leadership with regular reporting on spend, savings, and supplier performance
Escalate supply chain risks and material cost variances with proposed mitigations
Represent the Finance organization in cross-functional planning and prioritization discussions
Documentation and Process Improvement:
Maintain thorough documentation of vendor records, contract terms, pricing history, and procurement policies
Develop and refine procurement playbooks, approval workflows, and standard operating procedures aligned with Finance controls
Identify opportunities to automate purchase requisitions, approvals, and reporting through procurement and ERP systems
Compliance and Risk Management:
Ensure procurement activities adhere to internal financial controls, segregation-of-duties requirements, and applicable regulations
Support internal and external audit requests related to procurement, spend, and vendor management
Conduct supplier due diligence including financial health, security posture, and ethical sourcing practices
Maintain audit-ready records of all sourcing decisions and contractual commitments
Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Supply Chain Management, Business, or a related field; MBA or CPSM/CIPS certification a plus
5-7 years of procurement or strategic sourcing experience, preferably within a Finance organization and in data center, hardware, or technology environments
Strong financial acumen with experience partnering with FP&A, Accounting, and Treasury on budgeting, accruals, and capex planning
Proven track record negotiating high-value contracts with OEMs and distributors (Dell, HPE, Supermicro, NVIDIA, Cisco, Arista, or similar)
Strong understanding of server, GPU, storage, and networking hardware markets, including pricing dynamics and supply constraints
Demonstrated ability to manage complex, multi-stakeholder sourcing initiatives from requirements gathering through delivery
Proficiency with procurement and ERP systems (Coupa, NetSuite, SAP Ariba, Oracle, or similar)
Advanced Excel skills with the ability to build TCO, savings, and scenario models; comfort with BI tools a plus
Familiarity with INCOTERMS, import/export compliance, and logistics for international hardware shipments preferred
Excellent negotiation, written, and verbal communication skills with the ability to influence both technical and executive audiences
Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities and tight deadlines in a fast-paced environment
Sound judgment and integrity when handling confidential pricing, financial, and contractual information
Availability to travel occasionally to data centers, vendor facilities, and industry events as required
