Your role Mission: To strengthen the technical support team, we are looking for a Technical Support Representative to assist technicians with troubleshooting and repair of high-pressure air and gas (Hydrogen, CO2, Nitrogen) reciprocating compressors. You will report to the Technical Support Manager and work very closely with Service and Marketing people in the US customer centers.
Roles and Responsibilities: - Technical Support
- Offer professional and timely service support to the Customer Centers, field service engineers, and dealers about all questions related to air compressors and related equipment.
- Deliver Daily assistance to the end-user when and where it is necessary.
- Continuously improve the product quality by a proactive failure reporting follow-up. This includes analyzing warranty reports and being the driving force.
- Provide accurate and up-to-date service information covering all aspects of a compressed air installation. Provide technical training to customer centers and dealers on refrigerated air dryers in conjunction with the competence development group.
- Effectively diagnose faults on customer equipment.
- Specifically concentrating on refrigeration circuits and controls.
- Understand and support Atlas Copco's quality air products.
- Troubleshoot and repair Compressor and Dryer controls.
- Train customers and Atlas Copco personnel as required, in the general operations of their machines
- Maintain test instruments, to ensure they remain in good condition
Warranty Claims and Part Returns - Review and process warranty claims for industrial and oil-free products.
- Review and process material that is returned (service initiated or element exchanges), as needed.
- Prepare and distribute inspection reports and other notifications for field release based on this review and analysis.
- Contribute to positive Company branding by projecting a knowledgeable, professional, and customer-oriented image to customers.
- Perform all duties in accordance with Atlas Copco standards, while always striving to understand the needs and expectations of the customer.
- Take whatever action is appropriate and required to get the job done and establish and maintain communications with all people/employees considered necessary to get the job done.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
To succeed, you will need Skills and Experience: At least 3-5 years of working experience in a technical environment.
- Experience working with hydrogen and CO2.
PC literate and used to dealing with various software solutions.
Sound knowledge of electrical/electronic controls.
Good general Controller and Converter knowledge is a must. General compressor knowledge and knowledge of the Industrial Air Products are advantages.
Strong mechanical and electrical skills, with an understanding of mechanical and electrical components and the ability to interpret wiring diagrams and relay logic.
Must be proficient in the use of Microsoft Office, including Word and Excel.
Education:Minimum of a 4-year technical and/or mechanical engineering degree, or equivalent experience
