ABOUT THE ROLE:
We are seeking a highly skilled Systems Analyst / Testing professional with strong technical and analytical expertise in healthcare claims processing. The ideal candidate will have deep knowledge of Medicaid Management Information Systems (MMIS) or similar large-scale claims platforms and hands-on experience leading testing efforts across multiple modules including Member, Claims, and Finance.
This role requires a blend of systems analysis, testing leadership, and cross-functional coordination to support system enhancements, ensure compliance, and drive high-quality deliverables in a multi-vendor environment.
Key Responsibilities
Systems Analysis & Functional Expertise
- Conduct impact analysis for system changes, enhancements, and new module implementations within MMIS/MES.
- Lead advanced analysis across Member, Claims, and Finance modules to evaluate business needs and define solution approaches.
- Analyze workflows, identify system gaps, and recommend improvements for automation, accuracy, and compliance.
- Coordinate cross-module alignment to prevent downstream system conflicts.
- Support audits and compliance activities by providing insights into system processes and financial reconciliation workflows.
- Perform root cause analysis for complex production issues and drive long-term resolutions.
Testing & Quality Assurance
- Develop and execute comprehensive Test Strategies including SIT, UAT, and End-to-End (E2E) testing.
- Perform Agile testing activities such as sprint planning, backlog refinement, test case design, and continuous integration testing.
- Create and maintain business test scenarios, test cases, and test data.
- Lead defect triage calls across multiple vendors and ensure timely resolution.
- Track testing progress, monitor risks, and communicate status updates to stakeholders.
- Maintain detailed documentation of test results, metrics, and historical data.
System Support & Collaboration
- Oversee system development lifecycle including design reviews, integration testing, and production validation.
- Support system upgrades, interface enhancements, and configuration changes.
- Work closely with vendors, fiscal agents, business users, and technical teams to ensure stable operations.
- Support ongoing releases, enhancements, and defect resolution activities.
Required Skills & Experience
- Strong experience with Healthcare Claims Processing systems (MMIS/MES or similar)
- Proven expertise in Systems Analysis and Testing leadership
- Hands-on experience in Agile testing methodologies
- Ability to manage testing activities in a multi-vendor environment
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills
Technical Skills
- Proficiency in Teradata (complex query writing)
- Experience with Mainframe and DB2 testing (preferred)
- Strong knowledge of data conversion, ETL processes, mapping, and validation
- Experience with IBM Cognos or similar reporting tools (preferred)
- Expertise in Azure DevOps or similar test management tools
- Strong experience in defect tracking and triage management
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience working with COTS applications
- Familiarity with Medicaid Enterprise Systems (MES)
- Prior experience supporting large-scale government or healthcare systems
