McLane is seeking an experienced Infrastructure Engineer I to join our Enterprise Systems team. This role will serve as a key member of a two-person team responsible for supporting, maintaining, and optimizing our IBM Power Systems environment. Working closely with the Lead Administrator, you will help ensure the reliability, performance, security, and availability of critical business systems that support operations across the organization. This is a hybrid position which will require the candidate to report and work from the office at least three days a week. Therefore, interested candidates should be within a 50-minute radius from Temple, TX.

What You'll Do
  • Administer and maintain IBM Power Systems environments, including Power9 and Power10 platforms.
  • Manage user profiles, security access, printer configurations, and system resources.
  • Perform audit validations and support compliance-related activities.
  • Execute and validate monthly tax updates and other scheduled system maintenance activities.
  • Manage file backup, recovery, and business continuity processes using BRMS and FlashCopy technologies.
  • Support high availability and disaster recovery solutions utilizing MIMIX replication.
  • Monitor, troubleshoot, and resolve system performance, availability, and operational issues.
  • Support job scheduling processes using Robot Scheduler and maintain operational reliability.
  • Provide production support for JD Edwards (JDE) environments and related infrastructure components.
  • Participate in an on-call rotation and provide after-hours support for critical incidents and system outages.
  • Create and maintain technical documentation, operational procedures, and recovery plans.
  • Partner with infrastructure, application, and business teams to identify opportunities for process improvements and automation.

What We're Looking For
  • Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field preferred. Equivalent combination of education and experience will be considered.
  • 3+ years of experience administering IBM i (AS/400, iSeries, IBM Power Systems) environments.
  • Experience supporting IBM i 7.5 or newer operating systems preferred.
  • Hands-on experience with BRMS, MIMIX, FlashCopy, and Robot Scheduler.
  • Experience supporting JD Edwards environments is strongly preferred.
  • Strong understanding of backup, recovery, high availability, disaster recovery, and system performance tuning.
  • Working knowledge of security administration, user management, auditing, and compliance controls.
  • Strong troubleshooting, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to effectively communicate with technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively within a small infrastructure team.
  • Willingness to participate in an on-call support rotation.
  • This position requires the ability to read, write, and understand English at a level sufficient to perform job-related tasks effectively and safely. This includes understanding work instructions, safety protocols, and communications essential to the role. The requirement is directly related to the nature of the job and ensures compliance with workplace safety and operational standards.
