Our client, a leading telecommunications company located in Stamford, CT, is seeking a Program Manager for a 12-month contract with high likelihood of extension. The Program Manager will work onsite 4 days per week with 1 flex day and will be responsible for building and driving a detailed end-to-end migration plan, aligning technical and operational workstreams, and ensuring governance controls are in place across multiple interdependent projects. This is a highly visible role supporting a major merger-related initiative focused on migrating legacy customers into the client's core systems
This role will manage one or more highly complex, enterprise-wide IT programs consisting of multiple projects and workstreams. The Program Manager will define the program roadmap, establish delivery schedules, monitor progress from inception through delivery, and provide regular status updates to senior leadership. Success will require quickly understanding cross-functional dependencies across impacted teams, determining sequencing of work before, during, and after migration events, and driving execution through clear communication, RAID management, and stakeholder engagement. Additional responsibilities include maintaining project plans and status reporting, developing executive-ready PowerPoint materials, managing budgets, identifying and mitigating risks, and escalating issues as needed to keep the program on track.
Required Skills:
- 10+ years of Program and/or Project Management experience leading complex, enterprise-wide IT initiatives
- Proven ability to manage programs consisting of multiple projects and cross-functional workstreams
- Strong ability to create detailed technical and operational project plans with dependencies, with limited leadership oversight
- Demonstrated experience identifying RAID items, maintaining RAID logs, and driving items to closure efficiently
- Strong executive-level communication skills, particularly via email and PowerPoint, including delivering concise status updates and escalations
- Experience defining program roadmaps, tracking success metrics, and reporting on delivery progress, risks, and issues
- Ability to facilitate stakeholder engagement, align priorities across teams, and drive outcomes in a matrixed environment
- Experience building and managing budgets; continuously identifying opportunities to improve cost, performance, and schedule
- Advanced proficiency with project planning and documentation tools (MS Project, Excel, PowerPoint, Word; Visio a plus)
Preferred Skills:
- Experience with billing technologies (ICOMS, CSG, Amdocs) and/or large-scale system migrations (planning, dependency mapping, cutover readiness, stabilization)
- Telecom and/or cable industry experience
- Experience supporting mergers, integrations, or enterprise transformation programs
- PMP, PgMP, or similar certification
