Summary

Role: Database Support Engineer / Database Admin

Location: Des Moines, IA

Key Responsibilities

· Manage and administer Oracle and Microsoft SQL Server databases across on-premises and cloud environments.

· Ensure database availability, performance, integrity, and security.

· Perform installation, configuration, patching, upgrades, backup, recovery, and DR activities.

· Support AWS-hosted databases (RDS, EC2-based deployments).

· Perform database migrations from on-prem to AWS.

· Conduct SQL tuning, query optimization, index tuning, and performance analysis.

· Support Oracle Data Guard, RMAN, Flashback and SQL Server AlwaysOn, Log Shipping, Replication.

· Automate database administration tasks using Shell, PowerShell, Python, SQL/PL-SQL/T-SQL.

· Work with cloud, security, CMDB, and infrastructure teams to support integrated service delivery. [RE: Excite...ou Join Us | Outlook], [RE: DB JOB...ESCRIPTION | Outlook]

Required Skills

· Oracle Database (11g–19c+)

· Microsoft SQL Server

· AWS RDS, EC2, S3, DMS, CloudWatch

· SQL / PL-SQL / T-SQL optimization

· Oracle RMAN, Data Guard, Flashback

· SQL Server AlwaysOn, Log Shipping, Replication

· Performance tuning, capacity planning, DR planning

· Oracle OEM, SSMS, SQL Developer, Toad

· Linux/Unix and Windows administration

· Scripting (Shell, Python, PowerShell)
