About the Role
We are partnering with a privately owned shared services organization that supports multiple community banks across Minnesota. This team delivers enterprise technology strategy, regulatory compliance, architecture, and operational support for banking systems. The organization emphasizes customer experience, collaboration, strong fiduciary responsibility, and security-minded operations across all services.
Our client is seeking a Technology Risk and Controls Analyst to support the development and implementation of security policies and controls that align with the broader risk management strategy. This role is highly visible, hands-on, and essential to ensuring the security and compliance of the organization’s information systems, networks, and data.
In this role, you will create, implement, and maintain security policies, standards, procedures, and guidelines. You will conduct risk assessments and audits to identify vulnerabilities and potential threats, and you will lead ongoing monitoring and reporting to ensure compliance with established policies.
The position includes overseeing security control implementation—such as data encryption, access controls, and intrusion detection/prevention systems—and collaborating with internal and external stakeholders to build and maintain incident response plans. You will work closely with Business Analysts, Infrastructure Engineers, and Service Desk Analysts to support secure and seamless customer experiences.
Additional responsibilities include maintaining organized security documentation, such as control matrices and test scripts, and supporting vendor management and contract review processes. Success in this role requires a detail-oriented approach, strong communication, and comfort working in a fast-paced IT environment with a strong focus on policy, security, and risk management.
Required
- BS degree in computer science, information security, cybersecurity, or equivalent experience
- Proven experience (5+ years) in information security within the financial technology industry or a similar domain
- Experience conducting control testing, documenting results, and maintaining supporting evidence
- A proficient understanding of banking systems and industry regulations
- Experience working within Fiserv’s core banking platform
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills
- High ethical standards and the ability to handle confidential information professionally
- High level of curiosity and a drive to understand underlying business functions and security threats
- Solid understanding of IT controls, risk management principles, and information security best practices
- Understanding of the security threat landscape and tools/processes used to prevent, detect, and respond to threats
- Strong negotiation, management, and decision-making abilities
- Knowledge of NIST Cybersecurity Framework
- Familiarity with CIS Controls, FFIEC, SOC2 Framework, and COBIT
Team Members enjoy a comprehensive benefits package that includes health insurance with two medical plan options, along with dental and vision coverage. The package also features an employer-matched 401(k) plan, company-paid life insurance, AD&D, and short- and long-term disability, with the option to purchase additional life and AD&D coverage.
