What You Will Do:Pratt & Whitney is seeking a Systems Design Engineer for our Engine Design & Systems Integration (EDSI) Military (Mil) APU/TJ team to support expendable Turbojet (TJ) programs. This is a systems and component design position within the EDSI-Mil team and requires candidates with a technical understanding of engine systems and components. The ideal candidate will be team/customer focused, have good communication skills, and the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
The work would cover one, or multiple stages, of the engineering lifecycle like: requirements generation, concept, development, production, & sustainment in alignment with the RTX Lifecycle Program Management (RLPM) & Gatorworks process. This is a great opportunity for an engineer seeking to exercise their knowledge and inventiveness in arriving at robust design & systems solutions. This is a direct salary position starting immediately, located in West Palm Beach, FL.
- Work with EDSI-Mil Performance, Operability, Aero, Structures, and Product Definition teams towards generating design solutions at the component and system level. Manage requirements and design integration for system/component level solutions.
- Provide design support in developing conceptual, preliminary, and/or detailed component or systems design for small Turbojets (TJ's).
- Provide engineering support to the supply chain and operations via disposition of quality non-conformances & completion of Engineering Changes.
- Work closely with operations, quality, procurement, and engineering discipline SMEs to drive root cause investigations, develop associated corrective actions, and implement product and process improvements.
- Interaction with internal and external customers is expected; good communication skills and assertiveness are key qualities to possess.
Qualifications You Must Have:- Bachelor's Degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) or equivalent experience and minimum 5 years prior relevant experience, or an Advanced Degree in a related field and minimum 3 years' experience
- U.S. Citizenship required due to government contracts
- Travel less than 10%
Qualifications We Prefer:- Experience with Unigraphics NX and Teamcenter.
- Experience with ANSYS, or similar analysis tool, is a plus.
- Familiarity or exposure to hardware procurement and/or tracking.
- Proficiency with SAP.
- Practical knowledge of jet engine systems/modules.

The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels.
