Java Engineer with Test Automation - Onsite, New York City, NY Required Skills & Experience
6+ years of software development experience
Strong hands-on experience with Java development
Experience creating end-to-end automation using Playwright (Java) (UI and/or API testing)
Experience with AWS (preferred)
Experience testing t
rading platforms, Order Management Systems (OMS), or related financial systems Experience integrating automated tests into Jenkins CI/CD pipelines
Experience using Xray (Jira Test Management) for test planning, execution, and reporting
Strong understanding of SDLC, test methodologies, and quality engineering practices
Ability to work independently and drive work from analysis through implementation
Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
Preferred Qualifications Experience working in Agile/Scrum environments
Familiarity with API testing and integration testing
Key Responsibilities Design, develop, and maintain automated functional test frameworks and suites using Playwright + Java
Build and execute end-to-end automated test scenarios for web applications
Integrate automated testing into CI/CD pipelines using Jenkins
Manage test execution, defect tracking, and reporting through Xray/Jira
Collaborate with developers, product owners, and business partners to clarify requirements and resolve issues
Participate in architecture/design discussions and contribute to technical solutions
Support testing phases including system, integration, and UAT
Mentor junior team members and contribute to process/automation improvements
Participate in production/application support and on-call rotation as needed
