Introduction: The Mainframe Business Analyst will play a crucial role in supporting enterprise business applications within mainframe-supported environments. This is not a developer role, but rather a key position in translating business needs into functional requirements and delivery plans.
Responsibilities:
- Collaborate with teams supporting mainframe technologies such as COBOL, JCL, IBM Db2, IMS, batch processing, and file-based integrations
- Translate business needs into clear functional requirements and actionable delivery plans
- Support supply chain, warehousing, distribution, logistics, inventory, or aftermarket business processes
- Analyze and solve complex problems, assessing business impact, system dependencies, and operational risk
Requirements:
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Information Systems, Computer Science, Supply Chain, Business, or a related field
- Significant experience as a Systems Analyst, Business Analyst, or similar IT delivery role supporting enterprise business applications
- Experience working in mainframe-supported environments
- Strong experience translating business needs into clear functional requirements and actionable delivery plans
- Experience supporting supply chain, warehousing, distribution, logistics, inventory, or aftermarket business processes
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
Preferred Skills:
- Knowledge of mainframe technologies such as COBOL, JCL, IBM Db2, IMS, batch processing, and file-based integrations
- Experience in a similar role within the Detroit, MI, area
- Certifications in relevant areas
