Job Description:
Production Support Engineer (Java/Linux)

Location: Charlotte, North Carolina (Onsite)

Role Overview

This position is for a Production Services professional who will be responsible for a range of duties including Problem and Incident Management, Release and Deployment, and Operational Readiness. The role involves identifying potential production failure scenarios, creating and managing tickets, and communicating with development and business operations teams. The objective is to identify vulnerabilities, drive improvements in production services, and enhance operational procedures.

Key Responsibilities
  • Take ownership of escalations, performing troubleshooting, analysis, and resolution.
  • Perform analytical, technical, and administrative work in supporting new and existing software and equipment.
  • Resolve complex issues and consult with end users on optimal configurations.
  • Identify production failure scenarios and manage incident, enhancement, and problem tickets.
  • Develop and enhance administrative, operational, and technical policies and procedures.
  • Maintain metrics to help develop analysis that drives improvement in all areas of Production Services.
  • Serve as an escalation point for the resolution of moderately complex problems and service requests.
  • Provide leadership and direction on information technology issues to meet business requirements.
  • Run triage meetings and maintain documentation.
Required Qualifications

Experience:
  • 5 or more years in Java development or Production Support, Performance Testing, or a related technical environment.
  • 5 or more years working in a Linux environment.


Technical Skills:
  • Proficiency with monitoring tools such as Splunk, Datadog, or New Relic.
  • Experience with one or more of the following: AppDynamics, Introscope, Dynatrace.
  • Scripting capabilities in Bash and/or PowerShell.
  • Strong debugging and troubleshooting skills.

Preferred Qualifications
  • Demonstrated problem-solving abilities.
  • Detail-oriented and organized with effective communication skills.
  • Ability to multi-task and adapt to a dynamic work environment.
  • A curiosity and willingness to learn new things.
  • Flexibility in work hours is required to support production issues after hours and on weekends.
