OverviewWe are seeking a Service Desk Technician (Tier II) for a temporary assignment supporting the IT environment at our Saco, Maine location. This role provides critical Tier II technical support, troubleshooting, and customer service to ensure business operations remain efficient and secure. This is a 2-3 month position covering for a team member taking leave, with planned overlap for training and knowledge transfer.
ResponsibilitiesThe Service Desk Technician will be responsible for resolving escalated incidents, supporting end users, and maintaining reliable IT systems across the organization. Key responsibilities include:
- Troubleshooting and resolving end-user hardware, software, and networking issues to ensure optimal performance.
- Diagnosing and resolving Tier II-level system performance issues.
- Providing support for escalated tickets from Tier I technicians.
- Installing, configuring, and troubleshooting user systems including PCs, laptops, multifunction printers, tablets, smartphones, Windows OS, and software applications.
- Working with external vendors and consultants to resolve IT issues when necessary.
- Remediating malware, spyware, and virus infections on user systems.
- Diagnosing and resolving basic network connectivity issues.
- Supporting migration projects through testing and deployment efforts.
- Assisting with user onboarding and offboarding processes, including device setup and equipment return.
- Providing end-user training in technology best practices and security protocols.
- Maintaining strong adherence to cybersecurity principles and company policies.
- Traveling to remote sites as needed to provide onsite support.
- Participating in a standby or on-call rotation as required to meet deadlines or handle emergencies.
- Performing additional duties or special projects as assigned.
Qualifications- Experience providing Tier I or Tier II desktop or service desk support.
- Strong customer service, communication, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to troubleshoot hardware, software, and networking issues.
- Familiarity with Windows operating systems and common business applications.

Work EnvironmentThe team consists of approximately 11 support professionals across several states, with one technician currently based in Maine. This temporary role is intended to provide coverage during that technician's upcoming leave, with opportunity for overlap to ensure proper onboarding and continuity of support.
Why This Role Is OpenThis position is a temporary assignment to cover for a team member going on leave starting in May. The goal is to have someone start beforehand to allow sufficient time for onboarding and training.

Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $22.00 - $27.00/hr.
