Program Manager

Location: Deerfield, Illinois (Onsite)

Role Overview

We are seeking an experienced Program Manager to lead and coordinate a highly visible enterprise data modernization initiative focused on the final stages of a Hadoop-to-Databricks migration. This individual will play a key role in driving execution, aligning stakeholders, and ensuring a safe and seamless transition with minimal business disruption. The program has executive visibility and may expand to support additional legacy data and system modernization efforts.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead the planning and execution of Hadoop decommissioning activities following migration to Databricks.
  • Develop comprehensive project schedules, execution plans, and risk mitigation strategies.
  • Coordinate the completion of decommissioning checklists, dependencies, and validation activities.
  • Manage integrations and downstream systems currently connected to Hadoop and oversee transition activities.
  • Drive accountability across technical teams to improve delivery timelines and execution consistency.
  • Facilitate communication with senior leadership and executive stakeholders.
  • Identify and mitigate risks related to outages, service disruptions, and migration-related incidents.
  • Perform capacity planning and resource management across multiple teams and workstreams.
  • Take a hands-on approach by building plans, managing day-to-day execution activities, and driving outcomes.
  • Establish structure and governance where processes have historically been self-managed.
Required Qualifications
  • 10+ years of Program Management experience leading large-scale technology initiatives.
  • Proven ability to build detailed project plans and drive successful execution.
  • Strong experience coordinating cross-functional teams and managing dependencies.
  • Excellent stakeholder management skills, including experience working with executive leadership.
  • Experience handling complex programs involving multiple technical teams and competing priorities.
  • Strong organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills.
  • Experience with project tracking tools such as Azure DevOps, Jira, or similar platforms.
  • Demonstrated ability to ask the right questions, remove roadblocks, and connect teams to achieve business objectives.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience supporting Legacy data platform migrations.
  • Familiarity with Hadoop and Databricks environments.
  • Experience with legacy data modernization and decommissioning initiatives.
  • Knowledge of Azure DevOps (ADO).
  • Prior experience leading infrastructure, cloud, or enterprise technology transformation programs.
