Senior Data Analyst – Supply Chain

Role Summary

The Business Enablement Architect is a senior-level individual contributor responsible for securely enabling business capabilities through intentional architecture, risk-informed design, and governance alignment. This role operates at the intersection of business strategy, technology architecture, security architecture, and delivery execution—ensuring that new and evolving solutions align with enterprise standards while accelerating value delivery.

The role partners closely with BU IT teams, Platform teams, Enterprise Architecture, Information Security, and external vendors to translate business intent into architecturally sound, secure, and operable solutions. A core accountability is providing architecture leadership, security design oversight, and risk input across Delivery Intents, New Technology Reviews, InfoSec Deviation Forms (IDFs), and the Business Enablement work intake process.

This is a T-shaped role requiring deep expertise in one or more domains combined with working breadth across solution architecture, security architecture, infrastructure, cloud, identity, data, and integrations.

Key Responsibilities

1. Technology & Security Architecture Leadership

Act as the BU-aligned Solution Architect, ensuring solutions are designed with security-by-design and security-by-default principles.

Identify, assess, and articulate architectural and security risks—including data protection, identity and access management, integration security, third-party risk, infrastructure and network security, logging and monitoring, application security, and resilience considerations.

Co-author secure solution designs with BU IT Delivery Architects, validating that non-functional and security requirements are met.

Complete all Security Sections of the Delivery Intent.

Partner with InfoSec, Platform, and Enterprise Architecture teams to ensure alignment with enterprise security standards, control requirements, and risk tolerances—without unnecessarily slowing delivery.

Provide documented security architecture input (including InfoSec Baseline Security Requirements attestation) to support risk acceptance, mitigation planning, or escalation.

Define or draft informal patterns, working with platform team, when gaps exist; determine control mitigation approaches when pattern effectiveness is in question. Ensure ad-hoc patterns are reviewed and approved by Enterprise Architecture and Information Security.

Support security event response, by providing details of the solution design and components to the team tasked with researching and resolving the event.

Shepherd projects from inception through Service Transition, maintaining architectural continuity and intent.

2. Architecture Governance (ARB / SARB)

Represent Business Enablement in Architecture Review Board (ARB) sessions for assigned BU solutions. Ensure sufficient coverage is in place to support the BUIT Architect in addressing all questions and securing ARB approval.

Engage the Security Architecture Review Board (SARB) via the office-hours model when InfoSec team engagement is needed.

Contribute to Delivery Intent reviews as a security and technology compliance contributor, validating alignment with:

Enterprise architecture principles and approved technology standards

InfoSec Baseline Security Requirements across security domains (data protection, IAM, infrastructure/network security, logging/monitoring, application security)

Target-state roadmaps and approved patterns

Contribute to New Technology Reviews, evaluating:

Architectural fit and overlap with existing platforms

Security implications and control gaps

Operational and support impacts

Long-term sustainability and vendor risk

Clearly document decisions, conditions, and follow-up actions resulting from ARB/SARB engagement.

3. InfoSec Deviation Form (IDF) & Risk Documentation

Author and contribute to InfoSec Deviation Forms (IDFs) when proposed solutions deviate from approved or published security standards or technical standards.

Gather required information from all involved parties (Delivery Architects, BU IT, Platform, Cyber Risk Management) to complete the IDF.

Ensure IDFs are reviewed by appropriate stakeholders and retained with supporting documentation by Cyber Risk Management.

Contribute risk perspective and architectural considerations to prioritization, sequencing, and sponsorship discussions during the work intake process.

4. Delivery Partnership & Enablement

Partner with delivery teams throughout execution to interpret architectural intent, resolve design issues, and manage trade-offs as constraints evolve.

Support teams with reference architectures, guardrails, and patterns that accelerate delivery while maintaining consistency and security.

Engage vendors and third parties to validate architectural and security alignment with enterprise expectations.

Provide RFI/RFP technical and security input; evaluate vendor responses.

Support BU IT long-term planning, budgeting, and forecasting with architectural input.

Identifies day-to-day process improvements and automation opportunities. Ensures improvements are delivered.

5. Intake / Demand Shaping & Ways of Working

Help shape demand early by engaging during intake, clarifying scope, and routing work appropriately—especially when architectural input is needed

Use Azure DevOps (ADO) as the system of record for work tracking, accountability, and progress visibility.

Support Agile Ways of Working:

Attends BUIT/SecTechOps PI planning events, communicate demand and urgency.

Attends BU BE daily standups, monitors progress, and orchestrates efforts to address backlog commitments. Coaches BU BE Architects and Engineers to ensure proper processes are followed and the right questions are asked and addressed.

Decision Rights & Accountability

Validate that non-functional and security requirements are met in proposed designs.

Define or draft informal patterns when gaps exist, working with platform and security teams.

Determine control mitigation approaches when pattern effectiveness is in question.

Recommend and influence architecture and security decisions impacting BU solutions.

Escalate material architectural or security risks through appropriate governance channels (SARB office hours, Cyber Risk Management, Director escalation).

Act as an independent, risk-aware advisor—balancing speed, cost, and control rather than serving as a gatekeeper.

Measures of Success

Business initiatives progress with clear architectural intent and fewer late-stage surprises.

Security risks are identified early, documented clearly, and managed intentionally.

ARB reviews are efficient, outcome-focused, and enable delivery rather than delaying it.

Delivery teams demonstrate increasing reuse of approved patterns and platforms.

IDFs are completed thoroughly and on time when security deviations are required.

Non-functional and security requirements are validated before solutions enter production.

Stakeholder satisfaction with solution feasibility, clarity, and security posture.

Influences and recommends solution architecture decisions by providing options, tradeoffs, and pattern-aligned guidance; escalates material risks and unresolved design conflicts through governance channels

Improved governance throughput/quality: more packages pass with minimal rework (e.g., "pass on first attempt” concepts used in BE goal setting).

Reduced cycle time from new tech / DI package creation through approvals, aligned to the organization''s interest in measuring time-to-approval and volume metrics.

Quarterly and daily commitments are completed on time and as promised.
