Role Summary
Senior Data Modeller / ETL Design Engineer responsible for translating business requirements
into scalable data models and robust ETL/ELT designs. The role focuses on strong data
modelling fundamentals, SQL-driven design, and analytical problem-solving to enable reliable
analytics and enterprise data platforms.
Key Responsibilities
Translate business and functional requirements into conceptual, logical, and physical
data models
Design scalable ETL/ELT frameworks aligned to enterprise data architecture
Perform requirements-to-model mapping ensuring traceability and completeness
Develop and optimize SQL-based transformations and data structures
Define data standards, naming conventions, and modelling best practices
Support dimensional modelling, normalization, and lakehouse patterns
Collaborate with data engineers, architects, and business stakeholders
Ensure data quality, integrity, and referential consistency
Review and optimize existing data models for performance and scalability
Document data lineage, metadata, and design artifacts
Support impact analysis and change management for schema evolution
Required Technical Skills
Core Modelling
Strong data modelling fundamentals (conceptual, logical, physical)
Dimensional modelling (star/snowflake schemas)
Normalization and denormalization strategies
Requirements-to-model traceability
SQL & ETL Design
Advanced SQL proficiency (complex joins, window functions, tuning)
ETL/ELT architecture and design patterns
Source-to-target mapping design

Experience & Qualifications
12+ years in Data Modelling / ETL Design / Data Architecture
Proven experience designing enterprise data models
Strong SQL and data analysis background
Experience working with large-scale data platforms
BFSI domain experience preferred
Bachelor’s/Master’s in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field
Preferred / Good to Have
Experience with modelling tools (ERwin, ER/Studio, etc.)
Exposure to cloud data platforms (AWS/Azure/Google Cloud Platform)
Knowledge of Data Vault modelling
Experience with data governance tools
Understanding of real-time data modelling patterns
