Job SummaryThe Senior Manager of Enterprise Architecture is a leadership role within the Enterprise Architecture organization and reports to the Head of Enterprise Architecture. The role leads the Enterprise Architecture Office (EAO) and develops a high-impact Domain Architecture capability across the organization.
Job DescriptionThis position provides direct leadership to Domain Architects and maintains dotted-line alignment with Solution Architects across IT portfolios operating in a federated model. The role ensures enterprise architecture governance, standards, and modernization initiatives are executed consistently across the enterprise while elevating modern architecture adoption.
Key ResponsibilitiesA. Leadership & Strategy- Provide direct leadership, coaching, and performance management for Domain Architects.
- Provide architectural direction and alignment for Solution Architects operating in a dotted-line relationship across IT portfolios.
- Establish clear decision rights and architecture accountability across enterprise, domain, and portfolio teams.
- Collaborate with senior IT and business leadership to align technology direction with enterprise strategy.
- Serve as a trusted advisor on enterprise technology direction, risk, and modernization priorities.
B. Enterprise Architecture Office Leadership- Establish and operate enterprise architecture governance processes and review boards.
- Define and track EA KPIs, review coverage, and maturity metrics.
- Govern architecture standards lifecycle, exception management, and technical debt visibility.
- Maintain architecture policies, templates, and enterprise communication frameworks.
- Drive capability-based planning and Application Portfolio Management maturity.
- Ensure consistent enterprise architecture engagement across portfolios.
C. Enterprise Architecture Initiatives- Application Portfolio Management and LeanIX maturity.
- TIME-based rationalization and modernization efforts.
- Technology standards lifecycle management.
- Azure Cloud governance and compliance alignment.
- EA artifact and documentation standardization.
- Enterprise architecture maturity roadmap and reporting.
D. Domain Architect Leadership & Mentorship- Ensure design quality and readiness before governance forums.
- Strengthen executive communication and business framing skills.
- Instill enterprise-first thinking, lifecycle awareness, and ownership of outcomes.
- Increase collaboration and consistency across architecture teams.
E. Technical Depth Domains- Cloud Platform Architecture - enterprise cloud operating models, resiliency, cost governance, and hybrid platform integration.
- Digital, eCommerce & Corporate Platforms - enterprise SaaS ecosystems and business application landscapes supporting Finance, HR, Legal, and Procurement.
- Security, Risk & Compliance Architecture - embedded security controls, regulated data handling, and audit-ready system design.
F. Leadership in a Federated Architecture Model- Guide a federated community of Portfolio Solution architects operating in dotted-line alignment to the role.
- Build credibility and voluntary alignment across the architecture community.
- Address architectural misalignment early through clear expectations, data driven decision frameworks minimizing the need for escalation
- Balance delivery velocity with long-term enterprise sustainability.
G. Governance & Risk Control- Ensure architectural alignment with security, compliance, and regulatory expectations.
- Improve visibility into enterprise architecture risk and technical debt.
QualificationsEducation- Bachelor's degree in computer science, Information Technology, Engineering, or related field required. Master's degree preferred.
Experience- 12+ years of progressive IT experience, including 8+ years in enterprise or solution architecture roles.
- Experience with digital platforms and enterprise business application ecosystems.
- Experience mentoring senior technical professionals.
- Experience in manufacturing, pharmaceutical, or medical device environments strongly preferred.
- Experience leading architecture teams in Fortune 500 or large consulting environments delivering complex enterprise platforms across SAP, Tier 1 Supply Chain, Sales, Ecom, Manufacturing and Quality systems and Microsoft ecosystems preferred.
Skills- Strong architectural judgment paired with excellent communication, influence, and conflict-management skills.
- Strong executive presence and ability to communicate with senior leadership.
- Demonstrated ability to take initiative, drive outcomes, and operate effectively in evolving and complex environments
- Ability to influence senior delivery leaders and peer Enterprise Architects laterally across portfolios without relying on direct authority
- Ability to balance enterprise rigor with pragmatic delivery realities.
Certifications- Certified Enterprise Architect (TOGAF or equivalent) preferred. Cloud or Azure certifications are a plus.

The anticipated salary range for this position:
$154,000.00 - $231,000.00 Annual
The actual salary will vary based on applicant's location, education, experience, skills, and abilities. This role is bonus and/or incentive eligible. Medline will not pay less than the applicable minimum wage or salary threshold.
