Duties

Help

  • This position is located in the Application Management Department, Code KN18100, Fleet Readiness Center Southwest (FRCSW), North Island.
  • This position carries out the requirements of the Government Information Security Reform Act and the Federal Information Security Management Act.
  • This position is responsible for contributing to the strategic planning and execution of enterprise backup/recovery solutions, server configuration and consolidation, and overall health and status monitoring of the IT infrastructure.

  • You will be required to obtain and maintain an interim and/or final security clearance prior to entrance on duty. Failure to obtain and maintain the required level of clearance may result in the withdrawal of a job offer or removal.
  • Successful completion of a pre-employment drug test (including marijuana) is required. A tentative offer of employment will be rescinded if you fail to report to the drug test appointment or fail the test. You will be subject to random testing.
  • This position may require travel from normal duty station to CONUS and OCONUS and may include remote or isolated sites. You must be able to travel on military and commercial aircraft for extended periods of time.
  • This is a Cyberspace Workforce position, work role System Administrator, proficiency level intermediate the incumbent is required to obtain and maintain qualifications in DoDM 8140.03 Cyber Workforce Qualification and Department of Navy policies.

Qualifications

Your resume must also demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-11 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following:

  1. Experience and understanding of information security frameworks, data security, network architecture, encryption technologies, and threat detection systems;
  2. Knowledge of cybersecurity principles used to manage risks related to the use, processing, storage, and transmission of information or data;
  3. Knowledge of computer networking concept and protocols and network security methodologies;
  4. Knowledge of Risk Management Framework (RMF) process.
