SCADA Engineer

Position - Senior SCADA Engineering Consultant 

Location - Mississauga, Ontario (3 days onsite/ week) 

Duration - 1 year (possibility to extend 1 more year)

Job Description:

Required Skills/ Knowledge:

• Preferred previous experiences as SCADA and/or Maintenance Management System specialist in any Industry
• Knowledge of SCADA and/or Maintenance Management Systems
• Knowledge of communication protocols (Ethernet, TCP/IP and Modbus).
• Knowledge of standards and norms related to Safety Integrity Level (hw and sw).
• Knowledge of problems and solutions related to wiring and connections, cabinets, cable paths, connections to Civil Works.
• Knowledge of the concepts related to maintenance principles, database, protocols for data transfer and collection, configuration of maintenance asset and work orders, warehouse management and spare parts.

Desired Skills/ Knowledge:

• Minimum 5 years of experience in transportation systems (railway, metro, tram, freight).
• BS in an engineering discipline or relevant experience as an Electrical and Automation Engineer
• At least five years of professional experience in design or commissioning or performance testing
• Knowledge and experience with SCADA protocols (i.e. DNP3 and Modbus)
• Working knowledge of Windows and Linux operating systems, MMIS systems (such as Maximo and similar), PLCs, SCADA gateways, managed Ethernet switches, media converters (fiber and serial) and digital Input/output devices.
• Training in business improvement or root cause analysis preferred
• Excellent communication and documentation skills
• Ability to execute many projects and tasks in parallel, self-directed, highly detail-oriented, organized and flexible
• Ability to travel, occasionally on short notice
• Demonstrated experience in customer-focused problem solving
