Contract to Hire

We are seeking a NEBS / Regulatory Compliance Engineer to support Optical Network product certification and compliance testing activities. This role will focus on executing and supporting NEBS and ETSI, regulatory, and product safety testing to ensure products meet industry and global market requirements.

? Location Requirements

  • Must be able to work out of the Nokia San Jose, California office
  • Travel required to support test labs in Fremont and Newark, California

Key Responsibilities

  • Execute and support NEBS (GR-1089, GR-63) regulatory compliance testing
  • Perform regulatory evaluations for North America and international markets (CE, CSA, ETSI)
  • Assist in developing and maintaining test plans, procedures, and reports
  • Set up and monitor equipment during compliance testing, ensuring accurate data collection
  • Identify, document, and troubleshoot non-conformances during testing
  • Collaborate with design engineering teams to resolve compliance issues
  • Ensure testing aligns with industry standards and certification requirements
  • Support lab operations and maintain test equipment
  • Deliver accurate and timely reporting of test results

Domain Knowledge

  • Strong understanding of NEBS environmental, spatial, and electromagnetic requirements
  • Familiarity with product safety standards and general international regulatory frameworks
  • Ability to set up, operate, and maintain compliance test equipment in a lab environment
  • Experience identifying, documenting, and resolving non-conformances during testing
  • Proficiency in data analysis and generation of clear, accurate compliance reports
