Job Summary
HHSC is seeking a highly experienced Cerner Millennium CCL & Data Transformation Lead to support Electronic Health Record (EHR) migration initiatives. The role requires strong expertise in Cerner Millennium environments, Cerner Command Language (CCL), Oracle databases, healthcare workflows, and enterprise data migration/integration.
The consultant will work closely with clinical stakeholders, informatics teams, and technical delivery teams to support EHR modernization, reporting, analytics, and legacy system retirement efforts.

Key Responsibilities
  • Analyze and document clinical workflows across inpatient, outpatient, and ancillary care settings
  • Translate clinical/business requirements into technical specifications
  • Design, develop, test, and optimize Cerner Command Language (CCL) scripts
  • Perform complex data extraction, validation, and reconciliation from Cerner Millennium Oracle schemas
  • Support enterprise-wide EHR migration and legacy retirement initiatives
  • Develop and maintain ETL processes, structured data feeds, and flat-file extracts
  • Troubleshoot CCL performance and integration/reporting issues
  • Collaborate with clinical informatics and technical delivery teams
  • Communicate technical constraints and data limitations to non-technical stakeholders
  • Execute and tune batch jobs and support production/non-production environments

Required Skills & Experience (11+ Years Required)
  • Strong understanding of clinical workflows and healthcare operations
  • Experience supporting large-scale EHR implementations/migrations
  • Expertise translating clinical requirements into technical/data specifications
  • Advanced hands-on Cerner Command Language (CCL) experience
  • Strong knowledge of Cerner Millennium architecture and Oracle databases
  • Experience with:
    • SQL
    • Linux
    • ETL development
    • Data extraction and migration
    • REST/SOA development
    • Distributed systems and networking
    • Performance tuning
  • Experience developing and tuning production CCL scripts
  • Working knowledge of one or more:
    • Java

  • Experience with public cloud platforms:
    • AWS
    • Azure
    • Google Cloud Platform
    • OCI

Preferred Skills
  • Experience supporting Cerner Millennium environments
  • Prior experience as a senior Cerner consultant or technical lead

Work Environment
  • Remote position (Candidates can work from anywhere within the United States)
  • Standard work hours: Monday Friday, 8 AM 5 PM CST
  • Occasional after-hours/weekend support may be required
