Job Description Role Overview
The Senior Implementation Lead (Epic Inpatient & Research) is responsible for leading the ongoing assessment, design, development, and implementation of healthcare systems across the enterprise. This role bridges the gap between clinical operations and technical execution by translating complex clinical needs into structured technical requirements.

As a Subject Matter Expert (SME), you will provide guidance on application configuration, optimize workflows, manage stakeholder expectations, and supervise junior analysts. This is a high-visibility role requiring a strong balance of technical Epic expertise, clinical workflow understanding, and leadership.

Key Responsibilities
Leadership, Mentoring & Team Management
Team Leadership: Supervise, direct, and evaluate the work products of Junior Clinical Business Analysts, Level I & II Analysts, and external consultants.
Talent Development: Mentor and train junior team members, and actively participate in the hiring and interviewing process for new team talent.
Meeting Facilitation: Plan, organize, and lead cross-functional workgroups, overseeing all follow-up and action items.
Business Analysis & Workflow Configuration
Requirements Gathering: Interview end-users, clinicians, and project sponsors to capture business, functional, and technical specifications.
Process Modeling: Convert raw clinical data and workflows into clear conceptual data models, flowcharts, and technical documentation.
Cross-Functional Integration: Partner with project managers, developers, and third-party vendors to define external interfaces, technical constraints, and system boundaries.
Scope & Risk Management: Critically evaluate user requests to distinguish true business needs from "nice-to-haves"; identify project risks or ambiguities and proactively develop solutions.
Testing, Deployment & Support
Quality Assurance: Partner with QA and software development teams to ensure all functional requirements are met and align with internal and industry quality standards.
Change Control & Documentation: Manage software test plans, release notes, training guidelines, and document baseline changes using standard change control processes.
Deployment Support: Plan, coordinate, and support unit acceptance testing (UAT) and subsequent application rollouts.
Application Support: Perform troubleshooting, defect resolution, and end-user support during and after implementation cycles.
Continuous Improvement: Identify and analyze opportunities for process improvements, proposing and implementing strategies to optimize system utilization.
Position Requirements & Logistics
Work Schedule: Approximately 80% remote and up to 20% on-site.
On-Site Readiness: Must have the ability to report to the physical office location within 48 hours for required work.
Flexibility: Due to the nature of system implementations, working beyond regularly scheduled hours will be required during critical project phases.

Qualifications
Required Education & Experience
Candidates must meet one of the following criteria:

Master s Degree (or advanced clinical degree) + 2 years of experience leading software requirements management in a healthcare/IT setting, OR 1 year of experience in a relevant clinical/healthcare administration role.

A satisfactory equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.
