Senior Java Developer

Role: Sr. Senior Java Developer
Location: Chicago, IL ( 1-2 days per week)
Duration: 12-24+ months
 

Responsibilities
Design, develop, and maintain enterprise-grade Java applications supporting AI-driven solutions
Build and integrate Claude-based AI solutions into underwriting workflows
Collaborate directly with underwriters and business users to identify opportunities for AI adoption and process improvement
Develop APIs, microservices, and backend integrations for AI platforms
Optimize application performance, scalability, and security
Participate in architecture discussions, code reviews, and technical design sessions
Troubleshoot and resolve complex technical issues across environments
Ensure best practices in software development, testing, and deployment

Required Qualifications
12+ years of hands-on experience in Java development
Strong experience with Spring Boot, REST APIs, and microservices architecture
Experience integrating AI/LLM platforms such as Claude or similar generative AI technologies
Strong understanding of cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud Platform
Experience working with enterprise applications and distributed systems
Excellent communication and stakeholder collaboration skills
Ability to work directly with business users and translate requirements into technical solutions
