Job Title: Senior Accountant (Forensic / Audit Focus)

Job Description

We are seeking an experienced Senior Accountant with a strong background in forensic accounting and auditing. This role involves analyzing financial records, identifying irregularities, supporting investigations, and preparing detailed reports to ensure financial integrity and compliance. The ideal candidate will have excellent analytical skills, high attention to detail, and experience working with sensitive financial data.

Key Responsibilities

• Analyze financial reports, bank statements, and transaction records to identify fraud, theft, or embezzlement

• Audit financial records of public and private agencies or organizations

• Detect anomalies, trends, and patterns indicating potential financial misconduct

• Conduct interviews with relevant stakeholders to gather and validate information

• Gather, document, and preserve evidence while maintaining a strict chain of custody

• Prepare comprehensive reports outlining findings, financial impact, and control recommendations

• Evaluate internal controls and identify vulnerabilities to mitigate future financial risks

• Collaborate with legal teams and provide support for hearings, arbitration, or court proceedings as required

• Perform audit control functions and provide technical guidance to agency staff

Required Skills & Experience

• Bachelor s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field

• CPA or CFE certification (required or strongly preferred)

• Proven experience in forensic accounting, auditing, or financial investigations

• Strong knowledge of auditing standards and procedures

• Proficiency in MS Excel, QuickBooks, or similar accounting software

• Excellent analytical, investigative, and problem-solving skills

• Strong written and verbal communication skills for reporting and interviews

• High level of integrity and attention to detail

Work Environment
