job summary:

Join our academic support team providing premium audiovisual and event technology solutions at Harvard University. In this role, you will deliver hands-on media production, classroom projection support, and live audio/video capture for university courses and special campus events. You will work directly with faculty, staff, and students to ensure seamless technology experiences across dynamic learning environments.

responsibilities:

- Set up, calibrate, and break down AV equipment for scheduled university classes, lectures, and live events. - Operate HD video cameras to record dynamic classroom instruction, ensuring high-quality framing, audio clarity, and focus. - Provide front-of-house sound reinforcement, microphone setup (lavaliers and Shure wireless systems), and basic live audio mixing. - Deliver rapid, hands-on AV troubleshooting for instructors connecting Windows, Mac, and online streaming materials.

qualifications:

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

- At least two years of technical school or college education in a media or technology-related field.

- Minimum of 2 years of professional experience supporting audio, video, and integrated multimedia systems.

- Demonstrated experience with live sound operations, microphone management (A2 duties), and video capture technologies.

- Ability to physical perform setup duties, including lifting up to 50 lbs, climbing ladders, and moving equipment across campus.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

- Prior experience as an A1 live sound engineer.

- Hands-on familiarity with Panasonic, Blackmagic HD cameras, and Crestron/Extron room control interfaces.

- Background working in a higher education or high-touch corporate customer service setting.
