For this role, SUSE hands-on experience is mandatory, not optional.
Core Mandatory:
- SUSE (SLES) Administration (installation, builds, patching, troubleshooting)
- UNIX Builds from scratch
- Production Support (monitoring, performance, capacity)
- Patching tools (SUSE Manager / Satellite / NIM)
- Bash/Python Scripting
- Networking (TCP/IP, DNS, SSH)
- OS Hardening & Access Control
strongly Preferred (but not absolute mandate):
AIX / RHEL / CentOS (in addition to SUSE)
Ansible Automation
VMware / OpenShift
About the Role
We are looking for a hands-on DevOps Engineer to join our team in building and maintaining scalable infrastructure solutions. This is not a typical Linux SysAdmin role we need someone with engineering depth who can design, deploy, and maintain automation workflows across our cloud and on-prem environments.
Key Responsibilities
~Design, develop, and maintain Terraform modules and infrastructure automation pipelines.
~Develop Ansible playbooks and roles, deploy and maintain automation across production and non-production environments.
~Manage, troubleshoot, and support RHEL Linux systems; SUSE/AIX experience is a plus.
~Integrate infrastructure components using Python scripting for automation and process efficiency.
~Collaborate with the development team to deploy and manage applications in OpenShift or virtualized environments.
~Participate in configuration management, infrastructure standardization, and operational improvements.
~Troubleshoot and resolve infrastructure issues; support maintenance and minor OS-level tasks.
Must-Have Skills
~Terraform - hands-on development and deployment experience.
~Ansible - deep experience building roles and automation playbooks.
~RHEL Linux - experience supporting and troubleshooting production environments.
~Python - basic to moderate scripting experience for automation.
~Proven ability to work in an engineering-focused, DevOps-oriented environment.
~Strong problem-solving skills and a proactive, growth-oriented mindset.
~Basic UNIX skills -Somebody that can jump into the OS and do support/maintenance -not going to be the major part of this role.
~Client primarily deal with RHEL
~Exposure to SUSE or AIX environments.
Strong Terraform + Ansible experience, some OpenShift/VM knowledge, and the ability to integrate all components into a working system.
