We are hiring an IT Systems Administrator to own endpoint management, asset management, and day-to-day IT support for our Boston office. You will be the resident expert on Apple device management, running Jamf Pro and Jamf Connect across the macOS fleet, while also supporting Windows, Linux, mobile, and JumpCloud-managed endpoints. You'll work closely with the broader IT team and other departments on projects,
Key ResponsibilitiesDevice, asset, and lifecycle management- Administer Jamf Pro and Jamf Connect for macOS (enrollment, configuration profiles, smart groups, patching, deployment, compliance) and JumpCloud as MDM for Windows and Linux endpoints.
- Manage Apple Business Manager (ABM) for device enrollment, app licensing, and managed Apple IDs.
- Provision, configure, troubleshoot, and repair macOS, Windows, and Linux machines, mobile devices, Windows VMs, servers, and peripherals.
- Own IT asset management end to end procurement, deployment, ownership, licenses, and retirement/disposal keeping records accurate and in line with budget and compliance.
- Run onboarding, offboarding, and role-change processes: device prep, account setup, access changes, and equipment recovery.
Service delivery, documentation, and cross-team work- Own the daily Jira ticket queue, keeping prioritization, response times, and communication consistent.
- Find recurring tickets and remove the cause automate a provisioning step, fix the root issue, or document the fix.
- Write and maintain SOPs and knowledge base docs so employees can self-serve; partner with global IT team, stakeholders, and vendors on escalations and process improvement.
- Collaborate across IT and other departments on broader initiatives, contribute to projects led by other team members, and initiate your own improvement projects before problems escalate.
Key Requirements- 4+ years in IT support, IT operations, systems administration, or endpoint/device management. A degree in IT, Computer Science, or Information Systems is welcome; equivalent hands-on experience counts.
- Jamf certification (Jamf Certified Technician, Administrator, or higher), with hands-on production experience running Jamf Pro and Jamf Connect for macOS fleets.
- Experience supporting Windows and Linux systems, including server administration, in addition to macOS.
- Experience with JumpCloud or a similar MDM/directory platform for managing Windows and Linux endpoints.
- Experience with Apple Business Manager and mobile device management (iOS/Android).
- Understanding of IT asset management and the employee device lifecycle procurement through retirement.
- Strong communication and customer service instincts
- Proactive you anticipate problems before they escalate, initiate improvements, and stay steady when several things break at once.
Nice to Have- Working knowledge of networking fundamentals: LAN/Wi-Fi, DNS, DHCP, and IP addressing.
- Experience with a ticketing system such as Jira.
- Okta or similar SSO/identity platform experience.
- Jamf Certified Expert (JCE) or Jamf 300/400-level certification.
- Apple certification (ACSP or equivalent).
- Scripting and automation Bash, Python, or similar to replace manual provisioning and reporting work.
- Experience owning full project lifecycles, from planning through delivery.
$100,000 - $120,000 a year
