- Configure and optimize EMR clusters, integrate with diverse data sources.
- Implement backup, disaster recovery, high availability, and failover strategies.
- Integrate databases with AWS services (Lambda, S3, EC2, Glue).
- Apply AWS security best practices (IAM, encryption, VPC, security groups).
- Architect and manage Snowflake data warehouses, optimize queries, and support BI integrations.
- Write and optimize complex SQL queries for analysis, transformation, and reporting.
- Troubleshoot AWS-related issues and ensure compliance with SSA security and privacy policies.
- Provide technical leadership, mentoring, and clear communication with stakeholders.
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field (Master’s/Doctorate may substitute).
- 7+ years of experience as a Database Architect.
- Strong expertise in AWS database services, Snowflake, and automation/scripting (CloudFormation, Terraform, Python, Bash, PowerShell).
- Skilled in relational and NoSQL database management, schema design, and performance tuning.
- Experience with CI/CD, testing practices, and architectural planning.
- Ability to obtain and maintain a Public Trust clearance (contract requirement).
- Prior experience in federal/public sector projects preferred.
- Excellent communication skills and ability to translate technical concepts for non-technical audiences.
