The City of Austin D/B/A Austin Energy requires the services of a Software Engineer 3, hereafter referred to as Worker, who meets the general qualifications of a Software Engineer 3, and the specifications outlined in this document for Austin Energy.

WORK DESCRIPTION:
This resource will primarily support Mobile Workforce Management system but also back up the Meter Data Management System, as needed. The position manages and supports focused technology. Using comprehensive knowledge and competency, this position performs duties to support the running of batches, troubleshooting, making customer requested changes, writing reports, supporting training, patching and upgrading, and overall health of the system.

8 | Experience with upgrading, maintaining, troubleshooting, and administering a Mobile Workforce Management (MWM), Meter Data Management System (MDMS), or similar complex-enterprise application system that includes large volumes of data and complex interfaces including job scheduling and disaster recovery plans (SDLC DEV, TEST, and PROD) |
8 | Experience with UNIX navigation, AIX/LINUX (specifically Red Hat & SUSE) along with understanding and writing shell scripting such as KornShell (ksh) Scripting. |
8 | Experience evaluating system performance and health checks by implementing tuning improvements and performing system sizing estimates |
