Position Overview:

We are seeking an early-to-mid-career Data Engineer with 5+ years of experience to support a high-impact, large-scale data modernization initiative. In this role, you will play a key part in migrating business SQL code and BI reports from legacy Teradata and Snowflake environments to Google Cloud Platform (Google Cloud Platform) / BigQuery.

Key Responsibilities:

Migration & Modernization: Migrate existing SQL queries, business logic, and BI reports from legacy Teradata and Snowflake databases to Google Cloud Platform BigQuery.
Pipeline & Script Development: Write, maintain, and optimize Python scripts and SQL queries for efficient data transformation and pipeline execution.
AI-Assisted Engineering: Utilize modern generative AI tools (such as ChatGPT, Claude, and similar technologies) to evaluate legacy code, accelerate migration, and streamline development processes.
Cross-Functional Collaboration: Partner with data architects, business users, and analytics teams to ensure code accuracy and minimal interruption to business reporting.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required:
Experience: 5+ years of hands-on data engineering experience.
Core Skills: Strong proficiency in SQL and Python.
Database Knowledge: Hands-on experience or working familiarity with at least one of the following database environments:
Google Cloud Platform BigQuery
Snowflake
Teradata

Education: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or a related technical field.

Familiarity across multiple target platforms (Teradata, Snowflake, and Google Cloud Platform/BigQuery).
