Role Summary

SAP IS-U Billing Support Consultant is responsible for supporting, monitoring, and resolving billing-related issues in the SAP IS-U system. The role ensures accurate billing, timely invoicing, and smooth Meter-to-Cash operations for utility customers.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide L2/L3 production support for SAP IS-U Billing processes
• Analyze and resolve billing errors, invoice issues, and posting failures
• Support periodic, interim, and final billing runs
• Monitor billing documents, invoicing, and FI-CA postings
• Handle ticket-based issues (ServiceNow / Remedy / Jira)
• Perform root cause analysis and recommend permanent fixes
• Support month-end and year-end billing activities
• Coordinate with functional, technical, and business teams
• Prepare impact analysis for billing-related changes
• Support UAT and regression testing for enhancements and fixes

SAP IS-U Billing Skills Required

• Strong knowledge of SAP IS-U Billing configuration
• Hands-on experience with:
  • Billing Schemas
  • Rate Types & Rate Categories
  • Operands & Facts
  • Billing Classes & Installations
• Understanding of Meter Reading & Consumption Calculation
• Experience in billing document analysis and correction
• Good knowledge of SAP FI-CA integration
• Familiarity with tariff changes and regulatory billing rules

Technical & Functional Knowledge

• SAP IS-U Meter-to-Cash process
• Debugging billing issues using billing logs and simulation
• Basic understanding of ABAP debugging (preferred)
• Knowledge of IDocs / Interfaces (AMI, CRM, external billing systems)

Tools & Process

• Incident & Change Management tools (ServiceNow, Remedy)
• ITIL-based support processes
• SLA adherence and production support best practices

Soft Skills

• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
• Ability to work under production pressure
• Excellent communication with business users
• Willingness to support on-call / weekend billing cycles

Preferred / Good to Have

• Experience in Utilities (Electricity, Gas, Water)
• Knowledge of FI-CA collections, dunning, and payments
• Exposure to SAP S/4HANA Utilities
• Experience in regulatory billing environments
