Summary

Position: Data Architect

Location: Minneapolis, Minnesota

Duration: 12 Months

Role Overview

Lead the architectural design of a scalable, domain-aligned Microsoft Fabric data foundation supporting ingestion, transformation, governance, and analytics use cases.

Key Responsibilities

Define and implement Fabric-based Medallion architecture (Bronze/Silver/Gold)
Design workspace and environment strategy (Dev/Test/Prod)
Establish ingestion standards and Silver layer transformation patterns
Define partitioning and performance strategies for large datasets (700M+ records)
Design security and access control model (including sensitive workforce data)
Align governance baseline with monitoring and Purview integration
Provide architectural oversight for semantic modeling

Required Qualifications

10+ years in data architecture roles
Deep expertise in Microsoft Fabric, Azure Data Lake, or Lakehouse architectures
Experience designing scalable ingestion frameworks
Strong knowledge of data modeling and performance optimization
Experience implementing governance controls in enterprise data platforms
Ability to translate business objectives into technical blueprints
