Position: Sr. Systems Engineer - Low Voltage

Location: Irvine, CA

Overview

A leading automotive technology company is seeking a Senior Systems Engineer to support the architecture, development, integration, and validation of advanced low voltage energy management systems. This role will focus on low voltage power distribution, battery systems, energy management, feature integration, and vehicle architecture development.

The ideal candidate will work closely with software, hardware, validation, systems, and product teams to define requirements, develop system architectures, and deliver innovative vehicle energy management features from concept through production release.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead the definition, decomposition, and implementation of low voltage system requirements.
• Partner with cross-functional teams to define user stories, system behaviors, and functional requirements.
• Drive end-to-end development of low voltage power systems from concept through production release.
• Support vehicle architecture development through trade studies, proof-of-concept evaluations, and technical analysis.
• Develop and maintain requirements at feature, system, and component levels.
• Define test requirements for low voltage batteries and power systems.
• Support system integration activities including board bring-up, HIL testing, component testing, and vehicle validation.
• Investigate and resolve system-level issues through hands-on testing and data analysis.
• Coordinate engineering deliverables to support program timing and milestones.
• Develop and execute DVP&R activities across SIL, HIL, component, and vehicle-level validation environments.

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, Mechanical Engineering, Software Engineering, or a related technical field.
• Strong systems engineering experience in vehicle or embedded system development.
• Experience developing requirements for complex or safety-critical systems.
• Experience with systems integration and validation activities.
• Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced product development environment.
• Strong cross-functional communication and collaboration skills.
• Self-motivated with the ability to drive technical initiatives independently.
