Summary

Description & Requirements

Senior Data and Product Analyst- Nonprofit/Remote

The Connective is seeking a Senior Data and Product Analyst to lead our data strategy, drive complex analyses, and own end-to-end product development across our Salesforce ecosystem. This role partners closely with the Director of Data and Technology, program teams, and external stakeholders to deliver actionable insights, scalable data infrastructure, and high-quality technology products that advance our mission.

About The Connective

The Connective is a growing, Houston-based civic technology, design, and collective action nonprofit. Our mission is to transform social services into a more connected, empathetic and accessible system. We do this by designing and delivering human-centered social service programs, developing cutting-edge technology tools for service providers, and leading community-wide change.

Getting assistance is harder than it should be, and the process of asking for help is dehumanizing and stressful. With mounting risk of climate disasters and increasing economic pressure on low-income communities, social services are struggling to keep up and need a radical transformation. That's why we're here.

We envision a future where the next crisis is not an emergency. A future in which we've prepared for and adapted to inevitable change. We dream of thriving, resilient communities that are equipped with the right tools in the moments they need them most. Our potential lies in our power to connect; we can do better through our collective knowledge and experience. Alongside our network of partners, we turn barriers into bridges and expand access for those in need.

Best-in-Class Benefits and Culture:

We value our employees' time and efforts. Our commitment to your success is enhanced by a competitive compensation of $82,000 - $98,000 annually, depending on experience, and an extensive benefits package that includes:
  • Comprehensive health coverage: Medical, dental, and vision insurance provided
  • Robust retirement planning: 401(k) plan available with employer matching
  • Financial security: Life and disability insurance for added protection
  • Flexible financial options: Health savings and flexible spending accounts offered
  • Well-being and work-life balance: Paid time off, flexible schedule, and remote work choices provided

Plus, we work to maintain the best environment for our employees, where people can learn and grow with the company. We strive to provide a collaborative, creative environment where everyone feels encouraged to contribute to our processes, decisions, planning, and culture.

About You
  • Data Strategist : You are a seasoned data professional who leads with rigor and curiosity. You don't just clean and analyze data-you architect data systems, establish standards, and build the infrastructure that enables your team and partners to make better decisions. You're equally at home in the data and in the boardroom.
  • Advanced Visualization Expert : You build sophisticated, publication-ready dashboards, geospatial analyses, and data products. Your visualizations don't just report-they persuade, inform, and drive action among diverse audiences including funders, government partners, and community members.
  • Data Governance Leader : You design and enforce data quality frameworks across the organization. You proactively identify systemic data issues, build lasting solutions, and hold the organization to a high standard of data integrity and security.
  • Product Owner: You translate complex organizational needs into clear product requirements, prioritized backlogs, and well-scoped Salesforce solutions. You own delivery from concept through launch, balancing speed, quality, and user experience.
  • CRM Architect : You have deep Salesforce expertise and a vision for what an optimized CRM can do for a mission-driven organization. You lead the technical design of our Salesforce instance, elevating the entire platform rather than just maintaining it.
  • Strategic Communicator : You are a compelling communicator who synthesizes complexity into clear narratives for executive, funder, and community audiences. You present with confidence and write with precision, earning trust through both substance and style.
  • Equity Advocate : You believe in fostering fairness and justice within procedures, processes, and distribution of resources. In every product and analysis, you center communities that have been historically marginalized and/or are often not represented in social service design.
  • Mentor and Multiplier : You are committed to building the capacity of those around you. You guide junior team members with patience and clarity, share knowledge proactively, and create systems and documentation that outlast any single person.
  • Systems Thinker : You see the whole picture. You understand how data, technology, and people interconnect, and you design solutions that are durable, scalable, and responsive to the evolving needs of the organization and the communities we serve.
  • Adaptable and Innovative : In a constantly evolving field and organization, you remain flexible, adapting your strategies as needed. You're not just comfortable with change; you welcome it, always seeking the next innovation that will push our mission forward.

What You'll Do
  • Lead Connective's data strategy, including ownership of data architecture, cross-source integration, and long-term data infrastructure planning. Define and enforce data standards, governance policies, and quality frameworks across the organization.
  • Perform advanced quantitative and qualitative analyses on complex, multi-source program datasets to surface insights that drive strategic decision-making. Develop and own automated pipelines for data validation, transformation, and reporting within Salesforce and external tools.
  • Design and deliver sophisticated data visualizations, geospatial analyses, and executive-level dashboards using Tableau, Power BI, Looker Studio, or equivalent tools. Translate complex findings into compelling narratives for funders, government partners, and community stakeholders.
  • Own the full product lifecycle for Salesforce enhancements and CRM-based tools-from discovery and requirements gathering through build, testing, launch, and iteration. Manage and prioritize a complex product backlog across multiple program areas and stakeholder groups.
  • Lead Salesforce architecture decisions, including custom object and field design, validation rules, flows, and integration configurations. Evaluate and implement new platform capabilities that improve organizational efficiency and service delivery.
  • Serve as a primary technical partner on data-sharing initiatives with external organizations (nonprofit, government, and civic tech partners). Develop data sharing agreements, integration specifications, and partnership frameworks that protect client privacy while enabling cross-sector insight.
  • Provide analytical leadership on grant reporting, impact measurement, and fundraising proposals. Develop repeatable reporting frameworks that reduce burden on program staff while improving funder-facing outcomes data.
  • Mentor and support junior analysts and product team members. Review work products, provide technical guidance, and contribute to a learning culture within the Data & Technology department.
  • Partner with program, strategy, communications, and development teams to proactively identify data and technology needs. Serve as an embedded advisor to program leadership, translating operational challenges into analytical and product solutions.
