Job Location: Washington, DC (Remote - Quarterly travel required for PI Planning (Washington, D.C. or Wilmington, DE)

JOB SUMMARY
Position Summary
The selected consultant will serve as a trusted advisor to Corporate Security, reviewing security designs prepared by architects, engineers, consultants, and contractors. This person will ensure that proposed solutions align with corporate security standards, operational requirements, applicable design expectations, and industry best practices.

Key Responsibilities
  • Serve as Corporate Securitys subject-matter expert for electronic security systems engineering, design, and compliance.
  • Review and evaluate electronic security system designs, drawings, specifications, and implementation plans prepared by consultants, architects, engineers, and contractors.
  • Ensure proposed security solutions meet established corporate security standards, operational requirements, and industry best practices.
  • Provide technical guidance and recommendations related to physical and electronic security-system design.
  • Identify design gaps, compliance concerns, implementation risks, and opportunities to improve security effectiveness.
  • Partner with Corporate Security, Facilities, Engineering, Technology, Operations, project teams, and external vendors throughout the design and delivery lifecycle.
  • Support the development, refinement, and documentation of electronic security standards, requirements, and review processes.
  • Translate security and operational needs into clear technical requirements for external design and implementation teams.
  • Participate in design reviews, stakeholder meetings, project discussions, and vendor/contractor coordination sessions.
  • Provide clear written findings, recommendations, and status updates to Corporate Security leadership and project stakeholders.
  • Help ensure security initiatives are practical, scalable, supportable, and aligned with the organizations broader operational needs.

Required Qualifications
  • 8+ years of progressive experience in physical security, electronic security systems, security engineering, security design, or a related discipline.
  • Demonstrated expertise reviewing, evaluating, designing, or implementing enterprise electronic security systems.
  • Experience working with architects, engineers, consultants, contractors, and vendors on security-system design and deployment.
  • Strong understanding of physical-security principles, electronic security design standards, operational security requirements, and industry best practices.
  • Ability to assess technical designs and identify compliance gaps, risks, operational concerns, and improvement opportunities.
  • Experience gathering requirements and translating business, operational, and security needs into clear technical guidance.
  • Strong written communication, documentation, stakeholder-management, and presentation skills.
  • Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively with cross-functional internal teams and external partners.

Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience supporting large, complex, asset-intensive, transportation, infrastructure, government, or highly regulated environments.
  • Experience with enterprise access control, video surveillance, intrusion detection, security communications, or related electronic security technologies.
  • Familiarity with security-system drawings, design specifications, construction/implementation documentation, and design-review processes.
  • Professional certifications in physical security, electronic security, security design, project management, or related fields.
  • Experience developing or maintaining corporate security standards, governance processes, or technical requirements.
