# Position 1 - On-Site Systems Engineer
West Palm Beach, FL
Travel: Periodic visits to other PBCHA facilities within Palm Beach County
Contract
Primary Responsibilities:
- Server administration for the clients 2 physical servers and supporting cloud infrastructure
- Network device management across all the clients sites (firewalls coordinated with the cybersecurity subcontractor; switches, routers, wireless access points managed directly)
- Microsoft 365 administration (user lifecycle, Exchange Online, SharePoint/OneDrive, Teams, license management)
- Active Directory administration (on-premises and/or hybrid as configured)
- Endpoint provisioning, imaging, deployment, and lifecycle management for ~135 workstations
- Tier 2 and Tier 3 escalation from the help desk for issues requiring on-site presence or deeper technical authority
- Patch management execution (in coordination with CCST''s documented patch management program)
- Hardware troubleshooting, diagnostics, and break-fix
- Coordination with the cybersecurity subcontractor on security alerts requiring IT operations remediation
- Coordination with the Yardi/PHA subcontractor on infrastructure issues affecting Yardi application access
- Documentation maintenance for the clients environment (network diagrams, runbooks, configuration baselines)
- Support of CCST''s monthly reporting deliverables to the clients leadership
- Delivery of the contractual 8 hours/month of staff training to PBCHA users (in coordination with CCST trainers as needed)
Required Qualifications
- 5+ years of progressive systems engineering or systems administration experience in environments of comparable size and complexity
- Hands-on proficiency with Windows Server administration (currently supported versions)
- Hands-on proficiency with Microsoft 365 administration (Exchange Online, SharePoint/OneDrive, Teams, identity and access)
- Active Directory administration experience
- Networking fundamentals: VLANs, routing basics, wireless, VPN, troubleshooting at L2/L3
- Hands-on experience with Cisco network devices (IOS familiarity required; Linksys / SMB-grade equipment exposure helpful)
- Endpoint management experience: Windows 10 and Windows 11 (the PBCHA environment is mid-migration)
- Documentation discipline: ability to write and maintain runbooks, configuration baselines, and network diagrams
- Customer-facing communication skills appropriate for a public-sector client environment
- High school diploma or equivalent required; bachelor''s degree preferred
Required Certifications (one or more)
- Microsoft certifications (MCSA legacy; or current Microsoft Certified: Azure Administrator Associate, Microsoft 365 Certified: Modern Desktop Administrator Associate, or equivalent current track)
- CompTIA Network+ (or higher networking credential)
- CompTIA Server+ or equivalent
Preferred Qualifications
- Public Housing Authority (PHA), municipal government, or other public-sector IT experience
- Familiarity with Yardi PHA application (operating awareness only; Yardi administration is delivered by a specialist subcontractor)
- Windows 11 migration project experience
- ITIL Foundation certification
- Experience supporting environments with HUD or other federal compliance constraints
- SCCM / Intune / endpoint management platform experience
- Vendor management experience (Cisco, Microsoft, hardware vendors)
- VMware / Hyper-V or other virtualization experience
