Senior Desktop Technician / Administrator (Azure Gov Cloud / M365)

Location: Chelmsford, MA (Onsite, 40 hours/week)

Duration: 6-month contract

CMK Resources is seeking a Senior Desktop Technician/Administrator for our partner to support a federal government initiative. This role will focus on end-user computing, device provisioning, and environment stabilization within a Microsoft 365 and Azure Government Cloud environment operating inside a secure, CMMC-compliant enclave.

This is a hands-on, high-impact role ideal for someone who thrives in fast-paced deployment environments, can execute at scale, and proactively solves issues before they escalate. The first phase of the project will be a high-intensity cutover and deployment effort, followed by ongoing support and stabilization.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform device cutover activities including system formatting, re-imaging, and deployment of standardized configurations
• Provision and configure end-user devices within a secure government environment
• Create and manage user accounts, access, and permissions across Microsoft 365 and Azure environments
• Support Microsoft Intune device management, including enrollment, configuration profiles, and policy enforcement
• Troubleshoot and resolve desktop, application, and access-related issues
• Provide white-glove support to non-technical end users during migration and cutover phases
• Proactively identify and remediate issues to ensure a smooth user experience
• Document processes, configurations, and support procedures
• Collaborate with engineering, security, and program teams to support compliance requirements

Required Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience in desktop support, system administration, or end-user computing
• Hands-on experience with Microsoft 365 and Azure Cloud environments
• Strong experience with device imaging, provisioning, and large-scale deployments
• Experience with Microsoft Intune including device enrollment and policy management
• Strong troubleshooting skills across hardware, operating systems, and applications
• Ability to work in a fast-paced, high-volume environment
• Excellent communication skills, especially when supporting non-technical users

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience supporting federal or government-related environments
• Familiarity with CMMC compliance or secure enclave environments
• Experience with Azure Government Cloud
• Familiarity with Entra ID, endpoint security, and access controls
• Experience supporting large-scale migrations or transformation initiatives
• Relevant certifications such as Microsoft or CompTIA
