Your Role on Our Team:
The Injection Molding Process Engineer is responsible for developing, optimizing, and supporting injection molding processes to ensure consistent production quality, efficiency, and safety. This role provides technical expertise during new tool launches, troubleshooting, continuous improvement activities, and equipment validation.

The engineer works closely with production, quality, tooling, and maintenance teams to enhance overall manufacturing performance.

You'll be DISRUPTIVE through these duties and responsibilities:
  • Develop, establish, and optimize injection molding processes to meet quality and productivity goals.
  • Conduct root-cause analysis and implement corrective actions for molding defects such as flash, short shots, splay, warpage, burns, and dimensional issues.
  • Lead process validation activities for new molds, equipment, and materials.
  • Create and maintain standardized work instructions, setup sheets, and process documentation.
  • Support new mold trials, sampling, debugging, and tool acceptance.
  • Collaborate with tooling vendors and internal tooling engineers to evaluate tool design and recommend improvements.
  • Monitor process capability and implement data-driven improvements.
  • Work with material suppliers on resin selection, drying parameters, material flow issues, and troubleshooting.
  • Implement lean manufacturing and continuous improvement initiatives (5S, kaizen, scrap reduction, cycle time improvement).
  • Train and mentor technicians and mold setters on proper molding setup and troubleshooting techniques.
  • Supervise technical team
  • Ensure compliance with safety, quality, and regulatory requirements.
  • Manage and maintain ISO-controlled documents for the molding department, ensuring compliance with ISO 9001 standards, document revisions, approval workflows, and controlled distribution.

What TOOLS you'll bring with you:
  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Plastics Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, or related field; or equivalent experience.
  • 3+ years of hands-on injection molding process experience.
  • Strong understanding of scientific molding principles (RJG/Decoupled Molding).
  • Knowledge of plastic materials, drying methods, and material flow behavior.
  • Experience with mold setup, process troubleshooting, and tool/machine interactions.
  • Familiarity with statistical process control and data analysis.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work cross-functionally.

Other TOOLS we prefer you to have:
  • RJG Master Molder I or II certification.
  • Experience with high-volume manufacturing environments.
  • Knowledge of automation, robotics, or end-of-arm tooling.
  • Experience with CAD or mold-flow simulation software.
