This role requires a seasoned architect with deep AWS technical expertise, strong communication and executive advisory skills, and experience guiding enterprise organizations through cloud modernization particularly in healthcare, regulated environments, or complex VMware/Nutanix-to-AWS migrations.

Key Responsibilities

Strategic Advisory & Executive Engagement

  • Serve as the primary strategic advisor to the CTO for all cloud modernization and AWS-related decision-making.
  • Provide recommendations on modernization sequencing, workload prioritization, cloud-native transitions, and cost-efficient architecture patterns.
  • Participate in all AWS partner calls and cross-functional meetings, representing TEKsystems Global Services and ensuring alignment across vendors and stakeholders.

Cloud Architecture & Modernization Guidance

  • Advise on modernization paths from Nutanix on AWS and VMware-based environments into AWS-native architectures (serverless, containers, managed services).
  • Support portfolio rationalization to determine which workloads to rehost, re-platform, refactor, or retire.
  • Provide architectural oversight across migration, modernization, and cost optimization workstreams.

Cloud Adoption, Governance & Operations

  • Guide the customer through AWS cloud adoption frameworks, governance models, landing zones, tagging standards, and operational best practices.
  • Support knowledge management, documentation, and operational readiness activities across teams.
  • Ensure alignment with AWS best practices, Well-Architected principles, and cost optimization guardrails.

Collaboration, Partner Engagement & Communication

  • Work closely with AWS teams, TEKsystems FinOps Architect, engineering teams, and partner organizations including those supporting Epic migrations.
  • Provide guidance and visibility across cross-functional workstreams including migration, modernization, FinOps, and dashboard development.
  • Support resource planning, onboarding, and phased rollout of TEKsystems GS teams.

TEKsystems Global Services Delivery Alignment

  • Represent TEKsystems GS in project reviews, internal status updates, and practice alignment calls.
  • Ensure clarity of expectations regarding roles, deliverables, and sequencing.
  • Collaborate with GS leaders on resource planning and solution oversight.

Required Skills & Experience

  • 10+ years of experience in cloud architecture, cloud strategy, or enterprise modernization.
  • Deep hands-on and advisory experience with AWS architecture, including compute, storage, networking, security, and modernization patterns.
  • Strong understanding of FinOps principles, cost optimization strategies, and cloud economic impacts.
  • Proven ability to guide enterprise-scale migration or modernization efforts, including VMware- or Nutanix-based workloads moving into AWS.
  • Experience working directly with AWS teams, partner organizations, and cross-functional engineering stakeholders.
  • Demonstrated ability to advise executive leadership and simplify complex technical topics for business consumption.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience supporting large AWS-funded migration programs (ACDC, MAP).
  • Healthcare industry experience or experience in highly regulated environments.
  • Background working with cloud-native modernization strategies involving Kubernetes, serverless, containers, or managed AWS services.
  • Familiarity with Epic workload migrations (not required but helpful).

Soft Skills

  • Strong executive presence and communication skills.
  • Ability to influence at the CTO and VP level across technical and non-technical domains.
  • Highly collaborative mindset with the ability to drive clarity in complex, multi-partner environments.
  • Proactive leadership style with strong organizational awareness and customer empathy.
