Summary

We are looking for an experienced Phased Array (AESA) Lead Engineer to drive the design and integration of advanced beamforming systems for next-generation RADAR and communications applications. You will play a key role in bringing these systems to life, seamlessly connecting phased array antennas with wideband SDR transceivers, and translating mission needs into coherent operation across radar modes (for example search, track, acquisition, handover, multi-target handling, spectrum policy, and related behaviors). You will help define beam and resource management, waveforms, and timelines so the array performs effectively in each mode. This is a unique opportunity to leverage your expertise and contribute to impactful, real-world solutions. This position is based at our North American R&D Center in Hillsboro, Oregon, but we are open to considering fully remote arrangements for exceptional candidates, with occasional travel to the office as needed.

Your tasks

  • Define radar operational modes, mode entry/exit criteria, and inter-mode transitions.
  • Design, implement, and test phased array beamformers for RADAR and communications systems.
  • Integrate phased array AESA into system with wideband SDR transceivers and control both AESA + transceiver via software interface
  • Integrate software with hardware components and perform debugging and troubleshooting to resolve system-level issues.
  • Document hardware design and architecture, and present findings to both technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Participate in requirements gathering, design reviews, and code reviews to ensure high-quality hardware and system integration.
  • Interface with internal and external customers to address problem reports, provide resolutions, and ensure customer satisfaction.
  • Train and mentor junior software engineers in phased array AESA techniques, algorithm development, and best practices, fostering a collaborative and growth-oriented team environment.
