Advisor, IT Product Management – SAP FICO

Type: Full-time • Level: Advisor

Company Overview

At The Intersect Group, we’re partnering with a global enterprise recognized for operational excellence and continuous innovation. The organization combines disciplined governance with a people-first culture, investing in technology that elevates financial accuracy, security, and business agility. Their mission is to build resilient, data-driven operations that deliver value to customers and stakeholders while maintaining the highest standards of compliance and integrity.

Role Summary

We’re seeking an Advisor, IT Product Management – SAP FICO to lead the technical design, development, and lifecycle management of SAP-based Finance & Controlling solutions. You’ll align IT strategies with evolving business priorities, translating requirements into secure, scalable, and reliable capabilities that enable confident financial decision-making.

In this role, you will oversee release cycles and enhancements, drive incident/problem management and root-cause analysis, and ensure rigorous testing and quality across environments. You’ll collaborate closely with Accounting, Finance, Infrastructure, and Security teams to safeguard business continuity, maintain audit readiness, and optimize process performance.

Key Responsibilities

  • Own SAP FICO product lifecycle: plan and execute maintenance, enhancements, and periodic releases with minimal business disruption.
  • Lead requirements through delivery: partner with business and IT to gather/document requirements, design solutions, develop/execute test plans, and validate delivery quality.
  • Run incident/problem management: monitor SLAs, resolve issues, and drive root-cause analysis to eliminate recurring problems.
  • Coordinate cross-functional changes: collaborate with Infrastructure for upgrades/patching and with Security to enforce data protection and access controls.
  • Manage projects of varied size: build business cases, estimates, and timelines; report status; manage risks/issues; and ensure post?go?live support plans.
  • Guide contract workforce: direct external/contract resources to deliver to scope, schedule, and quality standards.
  • Prioritize and govern releases: facilitate backlog prioritization, release planning, and stakeholder communication across Accounting and FICO domains.
  • Engage stakeholders: maintain trusted relationships with functional leaders; communicate compliance/security updates, release schedules, and project progress.

Key Requirements

  • 5+ years in Information Technology with 3–5 years hands-on SAP experience (FICO focus); Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Computer Science, Information Science, or related field.
  • Demonstrated proficiency across SAP FICO processes (GL, AP, AR, AA, CO—including cost centers, internal orders, profit centers, and profitability analysis).
  • Experience with application development and testing practices; familiarity with ABAP concepts and ability to collaborate effectively with developers.
  • Working knowledge of release management, EPMO/governance processes, and enterprise change control.
  • Proven track record in project management (small to large initiatives), including estimation, scheduling, risk management, and executive-ready status reporting.
  • Strong background in incident/problem management, SLA monitoring, and root-cause analysis.
  • Collaboration with Infrastructure (system upgrades, performance, transport management) and Security (roles, authorizations, data protection, audit).
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office and SAP toolsets; familiarity with SAP add-ons and middleware/integration concepts.
  • Preferred: experience in payment processing (e.g., DMEE formats, EBS/bank statement reconciliation).
  • Excellent analytical, communication, facilitation, and presentation skills; adept at stakeholder management and prioritization.

Why This Role

You’ll shape enterprise-critical financial platforms, influence technology strategy, and see the measurable impact of your solutions across Accounting and FICO operations. If you enjoy blending product leadership, delivery discipline, and hands-on collaboration with business stakeholders, this is a meaningful next step.
