OverviewThis telecommunications team specializes in four major areas:
- LMR (Land Mobile Radio)
- IBS/IDAS (In-Building Systems / Distributed Antenna Systems)
- ITS (Intelligent Transportation Systems)
- Physical Security
They support a wide range of in-building wireless projects across federal, state, and local government, as well as education, transportation, stadiums/venues, and healthcare environments. Work includes construction, installation, and maintenance of in-building wireless access points and DAS infrastructure.
This specific role supports the
Tennessee market, with additional travel to
Richmond, VA when needed.
Scope of WorkTechnicians will support:
- DAS and low-voltage installations
- Public safety systems
- Fiber and coax installation
- ODAS/IDAS systems
- New construction and existing campus environments
Most work is concentrated on a major university campus in Tennessee, but coverage extends statewide. Occasional travel to Richmond, VA is required.
Travel Requirements- Up to 50% travel in the worst-case scenario
- Overnight stays in Richmond for up to 4 nights at a time
- Travel via company vehicle
- Hotel accommodations provided
- $65/day per diem for overnight travel
Position: DAS Installation TechnicianSchedule: 40-hour work week, Monday-Friday (typically 8 AM-5 PM), with overtime opportunities
Responsibilities- Lead a two-person team (technician + helper)
- Install, test, and troubleshoot coax and fiber systems
- Rack and stack equipment; cable dressing and labeling
- Perform low-voltage cabling work
- Read and work from blueprints and schematics
- Provide job documentation, photos, and updates to the construction manager
- Work with 1/2" coax and equipment from major OEMs (e.g., OTDR, Corning, Commscope, SOLiD, ADRF, etc.)
Required Experience- 3+ years of experience in wireless/DAS, voice, or data installation
- Strong coax installation skills
- Experience with fiber (testing, terminating, pulling; splicing is a plus)
- Ability to lead small teams and delegate tasks
- Experience with ISP/network cable construction
- Familiarity with testing tools (OTDR, Fluke, etc.)

Job Type & LocationThis is a Contract to Hire position based out of Knoxville, TN.
Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $20.00 - $28.00/hr.
