Job SummaryWe are seeking a skilled
Low Voltage / Structured Cabling Technician to install, maintain, and troubleshoot structured cabling and low-voltage network systems across commercial, industrial, and infrastructure environments. This role supports critical communication, security, audiovisual, and building technology systems using copper, fiber optic, and low-voltage wiring.
The ideal technician takes pride in craftsmanship, follows strict safety and quality standards, and can confidently interpret blueprints and execute cabling pathways. This position also requires clear documentation of work performed, collaboration with project managers, and teamwork to deliver reliable, code-compliant network infrastructure that meets client expectations.
Key Responsibilities- Install, terminate, and test structured cabling systems, including Cat5e, Cat6, and fiber optic cabling
- Perform cable pulling, dressing, labeling, and punch-down in racks, patch panels, and wall jacks
- Complete rack and stack of network equipment as required
- Troubleshoot and repair low-voltage cabling issues to ensure optimal system performance
- Interpret blueprints, schematics, and construction drawings to execute proper cable pathways
- Ensure all work complies with industry standards, company quality guidelines, and safety requirements
- Document installations, test results, and service work accurately and thoroughly
- Coordinate with project managers, site supervisors, and team members to meet project timelines
- Maintain a clean, organized, and professional job site at all times
Required Skills & Experience- Hands-on experience with structured cabling and low-voltage systems
- Proficiency with Cat5 / Cat6 cable installation, termination, and testing
- Experience with punch-down tools, cable pulling, and cable management
- Knowledge of telecommunications and network infrastructure
- Ability to perform troubleshooting and basic diagnostics
- Experience with rack and stack installations preferred
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality workmanship
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Comfortable working in commercial and industrial environments
Preferred Qualifications- Previous experience as a Cable Technician, Low Voltage Technician, or Structured Cabling Technician
- Familiarity with building codes and low-voltage compliance standards
- Fiber termination and testing experience (a plus)
Work Environment- Commercial, industrial, and infrastructure project sites
- May require ladder use, lifting, and working in ceilings or tight spaces
Job Type & LocationThis is a Contract to Hire position based out of Miami, FL.
Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $20.00 - $25.00/hr.
