This position will be a hybrid work arrangement. You will receive 18 remote workdays per quarter to use at your discretion, subject to manager approval. For example, you may choose to work in the office 4 days per week and take one remote day weekly (typically 13 weeks per quarter), leaving 5 additional remote days to be used as needed.
About Evergreen Portfolio Management This role sits within the Evergreen Portfolio Management team, which is part of HarbourVest's Evergreen Solutions platform. The Evergreen Portfolio Management team is responsible for the day-to-day management of HarbourVest's evergreen funds. We monitor and manage fund liquidity, support new investment activity, run scenario-based modeling, and assist the HarbourVest salesforce in responding to requests related to evergreen portfolio management.
As an Evergreen Portfolio Management Investment Data Associate, you will handle various responsibilities while building and maintaining our investment data universe. You will work on a nimble team developing connections across the HarbourVest platform including the dedicated Portfolio Managers, capital markets, investment teams, investment operations, legal, as well as senior leadership. Evergreen Portfolio Management Investment Data Associates think like portfolio managers, researchers and problem solvers. This requires strong data skills, analytical capabilities, familiarity with the investment process (preferably private equity), a deep understanding of investment concepts, and an entrepreneurial attitude.
What You'll Do - Serve as the primary liaison between Evergreen Portfolio Management and HarbourVest's investment data lake, ensuring seamless data access and alignment.
- Generate analytical insights that advise liquidity planning, portfolio construction, and performance optimization across evergreen strategies.
- Leverage the investment data lake to proactively develop data-driven recommendations that improve Evergreen Portfolio Management decision making.
- Maintain regular communication with Evergreen Portfolio Managers and senior investment professionals to translate insights into strategic actions.
- Build strong cross-functional partnerships with the Quantitative Investment Sciences team to deepen analytical rigor and expand modeling capabilities.
- Create and maintain dashboards that transform complex investment data into clear, actionable views for portfolio management.
- Produce high-quality internal and external materials drawing from HarbourVest's investment data repository to support fundraising, client engagement, and firmwide inquiries.
- Innovate new applications of investment data across evergreen strategies (e.g., private equity, private credit, infrastructure) to scale the platform and strengthen decision-making frameworks.
Who You Are - 2+ years of experience in engineering, data science, or a quantitative investment environment.
- Proficient in SQL, Python, and data analysis skills, to support system design and testing
- Experience with business intelligence tools such as Tableau, Power BI, or equivalent
- Proven ability to handle large, complex structured and unstructured data sets, extracting relevant insights while rigorously validating data quality throughout the process
- Track record of identifying trends from underlying data, distilling complexity into actionable conclusions, and articulating the "so what" in a concise, compelling manner
- Experience presenting findings to a diverse audience, including senior investment professionals
- Experience within investment management, private markets (specifically including private equity and/or private credit), or FinTech industry is preferred
Education - Bachelor of Arts or Science (B.A / B.S.), or equivalent experience
Experience - 3-5 Years of business analyst experience in the investment management or FinTech industry is preferred

This USD base salary range represents only one component of total compensation for this role and is provided in accordance with local requirements. This role is eligible for a discretionary annual bonus, which is determined based on individual and overall firm performance. In addition to salary and bonus, total compensation may include eligibility for long-term reward programs and a comprehensive total rewards package that may include retirement, health, insurance, paid time off, and wellness programs. Our total rewards offerings are influenced by several business factors, and eligibility for certain components will vary by position and geography. Please note the posted ranges do not apply outside the U.S. and should not be converted to other currencies as a proxy for compensation in other countries.
