Role Overview
An opportunity is available for a Quality Inspector 2 to support programs and plant operations. This role involves close collaboration with manufacturing personnel, operational leaders, and customers. The position requires a focus on inspecting materials and products to ensure compliance with all standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform inspection of materials from internal and external sources, including physical inspection, dimensional compliance documentation, and review of vendor certifications.
- Inspect internally manufactured parts and final assemblies throughout all production stages and review final test data.
- Conduct product inspections in accordance with drawings, work instructions, and quality acceptance procedures, while maintaining acceptance documentation.
- Assist in generating First Article Inspection reports.
- Support customer source inspections.
- Calibrate tooling, gaging, and other equipment on-site or by coordinating with outside suppliers.
- Utilize various inspection techniques, including visual inspection, conventional metrology, calipers, micrometers, and functional gages.
- Support project teams on corrective actions, root cause investigations, and other continuous improvement activities.
Required Qualifications
Education: High School Diploma or equivalent GED.
Experience: A minimum of 4 years of inspection experience in an aerospace or similar technical environment. Experience with technical drawings, manufacturing work instructions, and inspection procedures is required.
Technical Skills: Basic computer knowledge, including Microsoft Office Suite, and a working knowledge of Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T).
Additional Requirements: Ability to stand for extended hours and lift up to 50 lbs. Strong written and verbal communication skills are necessary.
Preferred Qualifications
- Associate's Degree in a Physical Science or a manufacturing-related area.
- Experience with CNC machined products manufacturing or inspection.
- Experience with practices associated with ISO and AS9100 Quality Management Systems.
- Previous history with passive microwave components and antennas.
Compensation & Benefits
The pay rate for this position is between $18.00 and $26.00 per hour. A comprehensive benefits package is available to eligible employees.
