Job Summary
We are seeking a Pharma Business Analyst with a strong pharmaceutical background and experience translating business requirements into technology solutions. The ideal candidate will possess a Bachelor’s or Doctorate degree in Pharmacy and have hands-on experience working as a Pharmacist before transitioning into a Business Analyst role.
This position requires close collaboration with business stakeholders, pharmacy operations teams, product owners, and technology teams to support the development and enhancement of pharmaceutical applications and business processes.
Key Responsibilities
· Gather, analyze, and document business requirements from pharmacy and healthcare stakeholders.
· Translate business needs into functional specifications, user stories, workflows, and process documentation.
· Collaborate with product, development, and QA teams throughout the Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC).
· Analyze current pharmacy workflows and recommend process improvements.
· Participate in requirements workshops, stakeholder discussions, and solution reviews.
· Create and maintain BRDs, FRDs, use cases, process maps, and functional documentation.
· Support User Acceptance Testing (UAT), defect management, and production validation activities.
· Work closely with pharmacy operations teams to understand regulatory and compliance requirements.
· Facilitate communication between business users and technical teams.
· Assist with implementation, training, and post-deployment support activities.
Required Qualifications
· Bachelor’s Degree in Pharmacy (B.Pharm) or Doctor of Pharmacy (PharmD).
· Prior experience working as a Pharmacist in a retail, hospital, specialty, or clinical pharmacy setting.
· 3+ years of experience as a Business Analyst supporting healthcare, pharmaceutical, or pharmacy-related applications.
· Strong understanding of pharmacy operations, medication workflows, and pharmaceutical terminology.
· Experience gathering and documenting business and functional requirements.
· Knowledge of SDLC and Agile methodologies.
· Excellent communication, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
Preferred Qualifications
· Experience with Pharmacy Management Systems, EHR/EMR platforms, or healthcare applications.
· Exposure to specialty pharmacy, mail-order pharmacy, or pharmacy benefit management (PBM) environments.
· Familiarity with healthcare interoperability standards and pharmacy data workflows.
· Experience with Jira, Confluence, Visio, Lucidchart, or similar tools.
· Agile, Scrum, or Business Analysis certifications are a plus.
