Job Title: Senior Oracle Exadata DBA
Location: RTP, NC 27709 Hybrid
Duration: 06 months to start with the possibility of extension 

Description:
The client requires a Senior Exadata Applications DBA to support the migration and development support of various applications for state Families Accessing Services through Technology.
The client is seeking an experienced Oracle Exadata DBA to lead the migration of large Oracle 19c databases (100+ TB) from standard AWS environments to Oracle Exadata in AWS. This role is responsible for optimizing, administering, and supporting Exadata platforms across development, test, and production environments, ensuring high performance, scalability, and reliability for a large portfolio of applications.
The DBA will work closely with engineering and application teams to modernize database architecture, streamline data models, and implement best practices for operating mission‑critical systems on Exadata within AWS.

Key responsibilities:
• Lead end‑to‑end migration of large 19c databases to Oracle Exadata in AWS, including planning, execution, cutover, and validation.
• Design and implement Exadata‑optimized database configurations, storage features, and performance strategies.
• Manage Oracle Exadata environments (dev/test/prod), including schema design, data modeling, and SQL optimization.
• Perform advanced performance tuning using AWR/ASH analysis, indexing, partitioning, and resource management.
• Administer high‑availability and DR configurations using Oracle Data Guard.
• Implement and manage replication solutions such as Oracle GoldenGate.
• Troubleshoot performance, configuration, and availability issues across Exadata and Linux platforms.
• Execute backups, restores, patching, and upgrades for Exadata environments.

Deep understanding of Oracle Exadata architecture, including storage cells, InfiniBand networking, Smart Scan and Hybrid Columnar Compression (HCC) 7 Years
Experience managing storage using Oracle Automatic Storage Management (ASM) and monitoring ASM disk groups 7 Years
Proficiency in applying Exadata storage cell, compute node, and firmware patches, along with database-level PSU/DBRU/Release Updates  3 Years
Experience with performance tuning at both database and Exadata storage layer Required 3 Years
Ability to troubleshoot complex issues across database, OS, and Exadata storage components Required 5 Years
Demonstrable expertise in designing database schemas, access patterns, indexing, locking strategies, and tuning Oracle databases Required  2 Years
Experience with OEM (Oracle Enterprise Manager) or Cloud Control for monitoring and diagnostics Required 2 Years
Experience in Install, configure, and troubleshoot/maintain Golden Gate Required 2 Years
Strong experience in SQL writing skills Required5 Years
Participate in on-call rotation and weekend work Required 5 Years
Experience with advanced security and Oracle DataGuard replication Required 2 Years
